Nanites

Ok id like to make a request to take away the nanites.  Because i was playing with some people yesterday againast some brog ai, and it is so annoying when they used nanites every 5 seconds literally, we were fighting, and continuously oner after another they kept using them

Hehe well they don't continually get used.... the clouds just kinda float around from ship to ship. I looove Nanites!!

Though I sadly have to agree, Nanites do seem ridiculously overpowered even though I'm a big fan of using them.

well, okay then can we change it a bit? to maybye scrabling a ships functions, so that it self destructs or fires on its own ships? cus its really annoying when its messing up your screen over and over and over

I think the effect they currently have is....ehh.

They should not bugger around with the UI. I think it would be better if they mabye damaged ships, repaired borg ships, and replace the UI weird thing with sensor blackout, i think that if the FOW covered the affected area for a few seconds making your ships unavailable and in the FOW.

yeah. damaged enemy ships. repaired borgies in the vicinity. Sensor range ok... Was more interested in them reducing fire rate of enemies.
Tweak the duration for balancing purposes.

I know this thread is older, but i just played a game of FO and was perma-spammed with Nanites and it was really annoying.
Clicking the right thing was harder then actually winning the game. :pinch:

You've been having it rough... The UI shake from the Nanites never seemed more than a minor distraction to me.

I believe the Nanite's effects are being changed for either next patch... or further on out :)

I'd be okay with a longer cooldown time for nanites, but I really like the effect, it makes the gave more exiting and it's really a unique feature that I haven't seen in any other strategy game. I think it should be kept, although maybe only accessible to diamonds or something. Keep the concept though.

And for the other change suggestions: do you really want cubes to have MORE raw power?

Lol people sure like to attack everything  :lol: Nanites are just fine and any skilled microer can fin a way arround it. Home takes you to starbase. Double pressing a number will take you to that fleet. left, right, up, and down will take you those directions

I do appreciate their uniqueness however I find them to annoying. They take away from the overall enjoyment of the game. I different effect would be better. I would like the nanites to affect the specific ship that flies through the cloud not the interface. Damage and a random system malfunctions to the ships should be the effect.

You're being attackd by Borg nanites, they're supposed to be annoying... the point of them is to screw with you.
