The Isokenetic Cannon would be more like a Photon launcher, with both being anti-starship projectile weapons.

If i recall the episode it was not a projectile weapon, but rather a pulse weapon to break through heavy shielding.
In that way not unlike the pulse canons on the Defiant, but it's safe to say placing those on a destroyer would be a little overkill.

A light quantum pulse would be interesting.

I trust Memory Alpha's definition of the weapon as 'projectile'. DITL also mentions it firing a single round in the canon text color.

Then i ask you, for what type of torpedo's does the energy grid of a star ship need to be reconfigured.

maybe to power a torp launcher in a different place from normal torps. reconfigure the grid so it supplies power somewhere else. maybe in a different form. maybe the isokinetic super-duper-gun needs ac and voyager runs on dc lol

Torpedo launchers need energy to run, just like the rest of the ship. The launcher tech itself wasn't Starfleet issue, and likely wouldn't work without some mods.

Possibly, but from what i gathered they needed to make adjustments to the power grid and install buffers.
Those are usually adjustments needed when a power grid needs to handle large quantities/surges of energy (nowadays and i assume in the future). A "launcher" would not need that.

But either way it's a weapon (pulse or torpedo) to punch through thick shielding.

Plasma torpedoes, for one. Not just a case of launching it, you have to keep it contained whilst it's in the ship. Maybe something similar would've been true for the isokinetic?
