Mixed Tech Idea

ive noticed a lot of ppl complain about the mixed tech so here is my suggesstion to improve it how about instead of a yard that builds a stronger version of a already buildable class either do a hybrid class or instead of a yard to a research facility that researches the new specials for the race (like if the fed capture a romulan construction ship the research station can research the cloak for the normal defiant instead of a stronger defiant or if a romulan capture a klingon construction ship they can have access to the k7)

The Romulans had the K7, they scrapped it after getting better ships of their own. They even got it in the FO tech trade way. They are more likely to take the Vor'cha or Negh'Var Class.

Personally I like the mixed tech.... I'm just a little confused how it works for the Borg atm.

When you capture a builder, you press the button, build a yard, and...
Presto you can repair your assimilated ships. In addition to that, depending on which race you captured, you can apply modules to the adaptor (that ship that was the assimilator in A2, the one from Descent I&II?) which reduce damage by up to 40% (with 2 modules, 20% for 1) against that race. Just be glad for the sake of other races that cubes cant get that.

mixed-tech will be extended in future versions, but will stay at native designes enriched with alien technology. i'm not a big fan of hybrid vessels and i don't think they would work that well (hell just remember one of these damn arrogant romulans sitting on a green-painted vorcha.. its a nightmare!)

Do the Borg actually have a working mxed tech.
All i see is my A2 assimilator moder gets a specific immunity or tolerance to attacks from the specific race if I build it after creating the mixed tech "lab".
do we have anything in the works for Borg mixed tech? Just curious.

The Borg mixed tech is the adapter module, though I can't see any damage reduction at all. The AI ships still blow it up really fast.

Just an optic Idea....
If you play Fed and have an Ally with the borg, it would be look great if your ships has some Borg-Implants.

it does reduece damage just try it with both moduals and you will see. but I think that early in the game it is usful but later on when you are building multiple cubes it is worthless I think it should either give a modual to all ships or it should give like 10% immunity to all your ships instantly.

Although I reckon that assimilated ships could receive Borg specials as well as keep their own specials.
You know it should be all Borg ships to have the adaption modules for when the Collective adapts the Queen applies it to all ships not just the Adaptor class. Of course the modules as a balancing effect take up two or more module slots on the rest of the Borg fleet.
What do ya say DOCa Cola and Optec?

We are currently working on a way to integrate something similar to an adaption features. but that will take a few patches

no the adapter can have 2 modules at least with the optomize avatar thou I dont see why it should be any different. so it is usful, but only for one ship.
