1.2) level2 = 25% increase
1.3) level3 = 30% increase

2) more resources havested with every harvest beam fire
2.1) level1 = 15% increase
2.2) level2 = 25% increase
2.3) level3 = 30% increase

3) mining vessels hold more resources
3.1) level1 = 15% increase
3.2) level2 = 25% increase

maybe a slow idle rank up?? the longer it lives and mines the more xp it gains ( after all it uses weapons to attack the moon so if the moon has some sort of xp?? ) to show that the workers on the mining ship gain experience, and become more experienced in how to handle the resources in their cargo?

but personally i think that the mining system is sufficient as it is

experience wouldnt work for borg miners tho

it might, they could adapt to the particular conditions on that moon. by mining it they see its characteristics and can alter their mining system to be more efficient.

the borg miners have a slow mining skill for 4 of their collectors, the others dont, the federation if captured a dominion constructor/miner can build a experimental yard and field some expanded federation mining ships. the klingons mining ships can dump their holds and turn into a small destroyer. then the dominion has the miners that get supplies from moons, where as the borg have to build a large amount of incubation centers. the system is great the way it is.

they can also start with a dominion ally and do it that way.

Yep there will be more upgrades to economy in the closer future :)

If the upgrades concern the freighters this does not encourage turtling.

Suggestion 1 and 2 are equal in effect. A discern between these is irrelevant. Suggestion 1 and 3 are good ideas.

I dont like this idea, it promotes turtling and also it demotes trying to expand. One of the most fun things in Fleet Ops is trying to defend or attack an expansion.

you build new miners, send them to your home base mining, and send your home base mining to the expansion since they have a rank up ( hopefully they have increased defense ) causing your expansion/miners to be more protected at the time b/c of increased defense.

on any RTS its the same thing, base building and expansion for resources to build up a force to attack.

turtling is a problem, i suspect the economy upgrade means an upgrade to the entire way the resources are allocated to some or all things. if the harvesting goes up then naturally some other costs may go up with it to certain stations or ships while others get some adjustments to how much it would cost to produce them and their upgrades.

All this anti-turtle going on.  If you ask a turtler, they'll say that rushing is bad for the game, because it strips away long-term strategy.

I'd say that people should just accept that once in a while they're gonna run into someone who's playstyle involves extremely heavy static defenses, just like people should accept that they can also be bumrushed before they have a chance to think.
