@frodo, yes tritanium replaced the latinum, so its all good to just change that. ( im pretty sure it will say the same thing in the RTS_CFG file anyway)

holograms. wouldn't really be a colony if there are no actual people on it ?? would just be an automated station

lol good point, call it a colony of holo emitters haha! i noticed during the later episodes of star trek that holo technology was becoming more and more useful i.e the EMH, the holo communication thing in DS9 etc, it would make sense to put holo technolgy to more practical use like mining and such as this would free up other resources like crew and less power resources would be needed to run such holo mining colonies as life support would be minimal at the least

right, back on topic - holograms running a mining colony!

i like the idea however im sure one race cannot name one stations crew a different tag from another, example:

drones/holograms. crew/holograms. warriors/hollgrams
if ya get what i meen.

you can only have one tag for the crew resources so the hologram thing is out. another problem with it is...the hologram alocation would still come out of the crew pool thats just the way the games coding works.

so even liking the idea armada2 cannot actually create a seperate crew pool.

Well holograms dont really need there own resorce do they, i mean all they take up is power. I guess they could use supplys for maintaining holoemiters and stuff but apart from that if a room is fitted with holoemiters there is no limit to how much holographic stuff goes into the room (except the space in the room of course).

So therefore stations with a holographic crew would just have a crew of 0. but then this leads to not being able to take over the station.

This could also lead to anti-holographic weapons that only effect say the stations with holograms on, say taking them over or maybe just creating a sort of really small statis field on the station i.e. just freezes the station. The weapon could be some kinda computer Virus weapon so the idea is holograms get disrupted so all work stops on the station.
