not really much of a request, i just need an explination, in stock armada i can have multiple ships mining a rock at the same time, but in FO only 1 ships mines and then another takes over when is finished, how comes it is like this?

Which version of armada are you talking about doode? I seem to remember in A1 the freighters took turns as in FO. I don't recall whether that happens in A2 or not. I could have sworn they still take turns in A2, but I could be wrong here. I can't ever remember multiple ships mining a rock all at the same time in any version. Then again, I can't even remember what day it is. Hold on... it's Thursday! Right??  :sweatdrop:

A1, A2, FO, all of them had mining ships where they would extract resources from one ship at a time.

But only FO has Klingon mining ships that can turn into K'tinga class warships ;).

Those klingon mining ships are bad ass little warriors. I once used them to bring me back from the brink of defeat when faced with a formidable enemy fleet. But that's what warriors do. We feel pain, we eat dirt.  :pimp:

Later in the game, the K'Tinga class seems so weak, but it really helps in early hit-and-run attacks on mining outposts.

It's the cheapest viable Klingon combat ship. Especially if you go with the 'Martok' upgrade, and you've managed to hold on until getting good numbers of Cruisers (Vorcha and up), you're gonna want to flesh out your fleet with K'tingas at least to provide more targets. And with the torpedo upgrade, they can actually do some damage when properly managed.

Now for the Duras (By far the more popular Klingon option). You're going to have Massed Bird of Preys of the B'rel class initially and then eventually of the K'vort class, but you have to time the switch properly, the shield breakers on the K'vort are deadly. The K'tinga then is relegated to support, with the heavy disruptor it is actually an excellent long range ship, and you have no need for any better, since you want to win the game as Duras as soon as possible.

16 B'rels and 24 K'Tingas, total of 40 ships.. very deadly, maybe not in a direct assault, but it is amazing when defending against smaller numbered heavy cruisers and battleships.

Oh, and is the Duras sisters more popular? I always go with Martok!  ^-^

with the new balancing tweeks, the balance could well swing towards Martok now ^-^

Would like to see that  :D Though I don't really play Klingons.  :sweatdrop:
Is there a chance we could get some news about how the new balancing will affect the races?  :innocent:

(Uhm.. wasn't this about mining?  )

I don't know about the races specifically... but according to Optec: "The larger calibers (battleships, battle cruisers and the like) got either cheaper or a bit more powerful. Generally speaking we reduced the "pay-off" period for the costs you have to put into 'teching' to gain these units. So you should have a greater arsenal at your disposal "

Cool huh? B)

Sounds really great!

I hope, instead of BoP-Spam picking apart bases, we will see BoP-Spams being fraked by capital-ships.  :guns:

Um hm, that would be awesome. It would actually make it worth it to advance up the tech tree while still retaining some lower ships as irritation factors as well as red herrings; right now all it seems is that even though one b-ship can take apart a few little ships, it still gets overwhelmed quite easily. :crybaby:

My strategy goes nil in seconds from this :sweatdrop:
