Actually, I'm not sure how useful this would be anymore.

I do like the idea of a follow button.

But slow movement in the game wouldn't necessarily be all that useful. Traversing the green nebula more slowly, but  overall, maybe its not practical enough to change everything.

It might have stopped  some engagements. If I have destroyers, and I slow them to 1/4, theyd have a much smaller chance of chasing an enemy (like a scout that was just flying by). They'd quickly be outrun, and their sensors would lose sight of them.

A lot of the time, you get AI attacks, but I don't want my ships to go chasing after them. Inevitably, you fight them off, but a few strays go running off, then your ships go chasing. But if they had a speed impediment they would quickly be outrun and lose sensor lock. Sometimes I like to keep ships together at expansion until theyre ready to make an attack together. Unless going for the kill is worth it... if the ship is heavily damaged.

But this isn't necessarily something to be used with good reason very often. For some specific cases might be neat. But for the majority of cases, ships travelling at max speed is best. Follow button might still be convenient for this and that. who knows
