Yes, we definitely hear about Klingon scientists, builders etc on TNG - we just care more about the martial aspect of them, and thus on DS9, all casts but the warrior seem to vanish...

Haha well DS9 seemed to be busy. They had a lot going on.
I like the idea of Klingons getting something like this.
I still maintain the opinion that part of the reason the Feds can crush so easily is that they've always got the ability to have 10 ships out for free. Those can replace losses and be sacrificed without real loss. I don't suggest giving other races an equivalent (it's nice to have the Feds have something unique), but it represents a massive goose-egg in terms of resource management compared to other races. They can field powerful ships faster with it.
Giving the Klingons a little boost like that by "rewarding them" for engaging in Glorious Battle is a great idea!

Agreed Boggz. I like the idea of them getting supplies from battle that'll be implemented. I would like to see all the races get some kind of reward for good gameplay. Early warp ins on large maps can be a pain, especially when they get 2 galaxies!

One thing that I kinda think lacks uniqueness is the designs. Far to many of these FO ships look like variations of canon ships. Is it possible to give ships a more unique look. I mean, the Sang has too much of the idea as a BOP. The Ed'jen as well. And the Bor'taS looks like a Negh'var that got its Nacelles ripped off and its bridge section inflated like a ballon.
Personally I'd think that Klingons out of everybody would have more unique designs in their fleet.

Considering the way Klingon ships changed over the series, I think they are just fine in FO.

Indeed. I really feel that the Warp-in is a fantastic gameplay feature and is part of what makes Flops so unique and awesome! I do just think it adds an element though to which the other factions have no equal. Free ships are free ships. Mayson gets them fast. Those free ships un-tie supplies, dilithium, tritanium, and shipyards to do other things like research their weapons, build more stations, or expand faster.
I'm very happy that the Klingons will get supplies for being aggressive Klingons

Hmm, I think the ideas here are maybe a little strong. Maybe having it so that when a veteran-level ship (veterans being famous across the empire for their glory) destroys a ship, a Klingon ship of equal level warps in (if the veteran destroys a cruiser, a cruiser warps on, for example).
Brings in the "glory" element, but doesn't overpower it. In fact it wouldn't do THAT much, but it's a nice touch, i think...
Thoughts?

Well that's a pretty good thought. Having a "hero" veteran draw other Klingon ships to follow it's banner is not a bad idea. That is one way to promote Klingons being rewarded for excelling in battle.

I WAS WATCHING STAR TREK GENERATIONS HOW DOES A OUT OF DATE BIRD OF PREY KNOCK OUT THE FLAG SHIP OF THE FEDERATION SO QUICK?
please... not all caps.

In answer to your question, if there is indeed a question here. In Generations, the Enterprise's Shields were ineffective because the Klingons has acquired her frequency. No shields, easier to kill...

Acknowledged. I'm aware that they have scientist and that they're shown in the series but the point of my idea was to draw the emphasis away from them and keep it strictly on the combat and honour side of things. After all, it's not exactly Klingon to go "oooooo Scientists, Scientists, Scientists!! How great they are; let's devote a thousand space stations to them." That's more of a Federation thing.
As with Dominus, who actually really cares about Klingon Scientists?

The warriors smart enough to know's developing Special Weapons for them to use in battle care... Klingon = focus on warriors = crappy, inefficient science rather than non at all.
You want Klingons who always get all Specials by default or don't have any?

I was just illustrating that the writers often don't, not that I don't

Klingons obviously have scientists, otherwise they wouldn't have such a long history of spaceflight and advanced weaponry. Likewise, Klingons "warriors" usually seem to be quite the innovators as well - not just mindless soldiers. The one thing they are really lacking in it seems is thoroughness (their scans are much less sophisticated than Federation ones) and medical technology (honor precludes it as we saw).

i'm not really sure how it started but why some ppl believe that klingons having 3 s stations are better scientists or love science more then the federation. its just the opposite. because they are worse then the federation they need more stations (more res) to develop new technologies and this is what we have in FO. its logical, consistent with common sense and canon so
