Klingon Hall
Post ideas and suggestions on new features or improvements here.

While reading the klingon supply gain thread I had an idea. A while ago someone posted an idea about replacing the klingon construction yards with a warriors hall that would attract klingon ships instead of building them. My idea however is to add a new module to the main starbase that would do three things
1) The starbase attracts klingon ships from nearby systems and if the starbase is under attack they defend their local bar
2) The klingons bet and wager on fights and buy bloodwine and this provides a constant trickle of supplies.
3) Every once and a while a klingon will have a little to much bloodwine and lose his ship in a bet. So you gain a new ship every once in a while.
Id love to hear some discussion on this

the first bit sounds a tad like SFC, maybe if the defending ships werent transferred to your control.
i like the idea of this, but it would screw up their supply from battle idea. maybe we could do one of two things:
1) have both ideas running at the same time, just both give supplies slower. so it all adds up.
2) move the supply from battle idea over to the romulans, the romulans now sneakily transport supplies off ships they are raiding or whatever and the klingons get the hall of warriors thing
for the third point, i would only be happy with small ships being given to you, like brels or kbqs.
in any case i like the idea. maybe it could be moved to the field yard, so that you can build this hall at the field yard instead of a third field yard extension.

My idea was that you might get another ship every 5 mins of play or so. Also the supply gain wouldnt be a lot just some extra. Not enough that you could really build ships only by it.

one ship every five minutes sounds good, not too op

ahh i finally get the OP remark, overpowered.
a ship every 5 minutes, is it just k'tingas and b'rels you are thinking of, or any random klingon ship?

Only the ones from the 1st yard, I think. Adding the K't'inga could be good, though, since there is likely to be a few still working as starships.

ktingas are only from topmeys, i think u mean kbeajqs. i think it should just be ktingas and brels, anything more would be op.
the idea of having ktingas come along is weird, it seems the klingons only want them as miners. they are soooo old. way older than excelsiors. too old to justify them still being part of combat fleets.
sometimes people use op as original poster, referring to the person who started a thread.

I think he means ktinga's. K'tinga's are still ships they just aren't built anymore, topmey's are built on their design and can be converted for battle in no time at all, but they arent buil purposefully for battle, so i think Tyler is suggesting a way to have more of them, ala of Starfleet ships from SFC.

yes i mean k't'ingas, warp 1 in then as soon as ship control is given, and explode the cargo containers just before control. K't'ingas still have an active role as a starship for the imperial forces, typically klingon cruisers are not replaced for centuries because of their design.

the devs have made it clear that they think the ktinga is as obsolute as the miranda. i dont think it will get any more than it has now.

it would make no impact but then again you can build your own k't'inga fleet anyhow. so i guess it's b'rels, k'vorts and that other one you pointed at, k'beajqs that are the main focus.
BTW Mirandas (like the K't'ingas to the klingons) are still used by starfleet as cruisers or for other missions like science, transport and such but are recalled for active military service if needed. i have not seen anything in the books about the miranda going out of service yet. but thats a different matter entirely.

In TNG and DS9 they are still used, but FO is several decades after the Dominion War. The Miranda Class is likel only found in Scrapyards or owned by civilians.

the devs based this game on their own rpg i think, which has its own story. and they made it clear that in their universe that the mirandas are no longer used, after the dominion war most were destroyed or damaged and were decomissioned and put in museums etc. so the miranda wont make starfleet appearances in fleetops. maybe as npc units, where some mercs have stolen a few.

NPC map units would also include independant civilians who own old Starfleet ships.

I like the Klingon Hall idea. I think it could use some tweaking but overall it's a great idea that would be fun to implement
.
I think the Klingon Redo may have something like that.
