Intrepid ablative armor from "Endgame"

I'm just wondering what everyone's problem with the Ablative generator is? I can't see any way it would unbalance the game. With it active, an Intrepid can't use Warp (probably slower Impulse in FO terms) and Phasers are not usable (leaving the user with only the less-accurate Torpedos).

Is it really a (non-existent) unbalancing issue or do you just not like the tech?

Do you mean the Voyager armor or the Defiants ablative armor.

The thread is called 'Ablative armor generator' and it mentions the Intrepid Class, so the USS Voyager.

Besides which, the Defiant has Ablative armor not an Ablative generator.

yea, we'd really like to integrate the deployable hull armor one day just for fun, that's something we wanted to do from the beginning. that may has to do with the fact that endgame was first aired during the time fleet operations for armada 1 was in development without a good possibility to recreate that feature within armada. ;) however it's not said that it will get into a regular intrepid - it's extraordinary technology with a fate unknown within starfleet

the intrepid hull armor is no high priority task, it's something we are going to do, when we have nothing else to do or are very bored. so don't expect it anytime soon :P ;)
yea, maybe something for the veteran unit. i think it's just too special to be available for a regular unit, even if it is tuned down to not-kick-ass

Against the Borg it wouldn´t kick ass anymore, they adapted to it at the end of endgame (sounds strange doesn´t it ?).  :borg: :borg: :borg:

I would think that this would come at the end of some form of voyager campaign, not as a feature for multiplayer/instant action intrepid class ships.

But sadly, it doesn´t seem likely that any sort of campaign will be added, as FO is for multiplayer.  :crybaby:

I think Intrepids with ablative armor generators should be build by borg mixed tech yards, cause now the borg mixed tech is way to weak. You have to capture a vessel with a crew of 900 to get it. The construction vessels of the other races are much easier to capture.

For Klingons, Romulans and Dominion mixed with borg tech it has to be found other stuff. Maybe a stronger Neghvar or something like that.

think its a great idea for veteran stats,to get ablative armor,also as a add for defiant maybe,help it last that little bit longer once shields are down,
