I never seen someone requesting this and I think is a useful feature: every race could have the possibility to get a report containing the relative strength of armadas. The game already contains this feature, but one would have to press escape then navigate through menu, thus interrupting the game in MP. A feature useful especially in ffa games, when two fight and the third wins.  Any thoughts on this ?

Sounds like a Statistics tool like in Settlers 2 (If anyone remembers that marvellous RTS from the middle 90s  :D ). A nice feature, but how shall it be implemented?

Me too, but it sounds like it would be hard to implement.

Why should one side ever receive a "relative strength report".

Did the feds ever get that for the Dominion. Or the Romulan for the feds. Or the feds for the Roms. Or even feds for the klingons.
this is unrealistic and not in keeping with an RTS game.

I believe each fraction has a secret service which tries to gain as much information about all enemies as possible. Every nation has spies within the rows of the others (today as well as in far future) so there will most certainly always a flow of information from one to th other. In the meantime scouts are gathering loads of information too. Or you capture son menemies vessel and interrogate the crew by trating them nicly.

But that information is always incomplete, because the enemy will be able to hide some of it's strengh in most cases. Serpicus is right that is unrealistic to have exact information about your enemy at any time.

On the other hand it is realistic to retrieve information from the sources mentioned above, which will give you at least a lower boundary  for the forces of the current operation. This is not steady, not reliable, encourages personal initiative, but will give you at least a hint wether you can relax or not.

How do you acquire that information from the borg?

i could see it being a usefull tool, it dosent have to be very accurate, but somtimes when somons fleet is stronger, the other person pulls of a win, or they can win by pulling back to there base,

if the relative strenght was including stationary turrets and such, and dilithium and tri it would help to make it broader, and harder to judge if you attack there fleet you will win

what you also have to take into account is the attacking fleet, willo not have there turrets and stations attacking with them or tritanium or dilithium so it could be decieving

also instead of showing an exact count of strenthg it could be rounded, so that it gives you an idea, but you should attack soley on those stats

Borg computers are very advanced, but they are not perfect.
