about the idea: i think he means remove the non canon ships. while canon is great, that idea is basically telling the devs to remove some of their work and bin it. they liked the monsoon/canav enough to build models and put them in the game, so i think they wouldnt be very open to the idea of getting rid of them.

What about putting them as a mixed-tech or avatar specific ship? This would explain why we have never seen them in the show ;-). They are just to special.

i'm indifferent to that idea. but it still is asking the devs to take some of the stuff they liked and give it a less important role. i mean these ships are in the game because they wanted them there to begin with, not sure its gonna be appealing for them to diminish the value of their work to go in a new and canon direction.

i agree with that, it looks as if some scientist got the designs of a bird of pray and saw it filled a roll the feds don't have filled yet or for which this ship would work better then theirs. but to make the design work for federation there needed to be more space for their crew as in the series is the standard for federation. so they fit a bigger fd design head on it.

so the design might be less odd as it seems in the beginning

The yeager is very much canon. You can see it in the background in deep space nine. It has three warp nacelles.

The Yeager-type is just a kitbash of a Maquis-raiders' hull with the warp nacelles and saucer of an Intrepid.

And it has two nacelles... as stated in the DS9-technical manual.
