In a good amount of games the Nierrh class has been used as the Romulan's Defiant Counterpart. Basically armed with Rapid firing particle disruptors, and high yeild plasma torpedos. These of course were not as maneuverable, but to make up for it, it got better shielding and stronger hull armor.

I was wondering if this could be a Romulan mixed tech design. After all, I would think it would be a good addon for the next patch maybe.

Hmmm ... of all things I like the way it looks.

The Rommies do seem to be missing a ship armed primarily with torpedoes in the early game.  A short-ranged torpedo vessel might not be such a bad idea to give the Rommies a little anti-cap ship and anti-Borg presence that they seem to be missing now.

I don't know ... maybe as a Klingon mixed tech if it's got rapid fire pulse disruptors and Torpedoes ... seems to be a pretty Klingon setup.

I could support this as a Klingon Mixed-Tech design, it even looks like a more Romulan version of the B'rel.

One of my favourite ships, though I think in FO are some ships which are quite equal to it.
I've modde one in for my personal game, but I admit that it's not very different than a mix between the Spectres shields and the Generix frigates weapons doubled in amount.

Hmm it doesn't fit the Romulan design though. Its too bulky, and lacking sleek aerodynamics. I like the concept, though i think the design of the ship could be tweaked.

Well it was exactly designed to BE not the usual romulan design.

Yeah which is pointless. You don't see the Federation building grey Cubes with nacelles out the back.

No, but they built the Defiant. That's too not the usual design and a big exception in fed designs, and the Nierrh is the counterpart to that idea as well as to the armor and armament  which is overpowered to the size.

Hmm, just doesn't seem very Romulan at all to me. I mean I like the design, i just don't think it suits the Romulans.

I think it looks as Romulan as anything else does ....

Most Romulan ships are bird-like in Design just like Klingon ships.  This one looks similar, just more stocky.

The Defiant doesn't seem very federation-like, too. And not only because of the design, but because it's a warship as well. And the feds are no warriors in fact.

Regarding it this way, the Nierrh is nothing different to the romulan fleets as the Defiant is for the federation fleet. Neither in design, nor in purpose. Both are big exceptions, and exceptions aren't pointless but confirming.

Starfleet didn't use warships and got kicked at Wolf 359. Defiant was the answer.
Romulans only had big ships with standard weapons and got kicked by a dominions trap alongside the obsidian order. The answer could have been the Nierrh and it would have been just as canon.

My point is that the Nierrh is simply not better or weaker than Generix frigate and Spectre as a combination.

I like the Idea, and it looks awsome and beliveable. I mean, if its mixed tech it shoulden't exactly look romulan and it shouldent look exactly like the other races eather

ugh, I always thought it was an ugly ship, but Ziech and the team can do wonders for a model, so I have nothing against having another ship in the game.

The Nierrh would have equal stats to some other romulan designs which are FO-specific... it will add nothing.

The FO romulans' Defiant-copy is the fed-mixed Generix Frigate. So the Nierrh is pointless if its original purpose is kept in mind.

It would add a bit of variety...
