lol, realism is all in the details my friend. You could justify it by simply saying automated turrets are linked via subspace to a command center main computer and the vessel that is hacking in for control must stay present to disrupt that link and provide new orders to the turret. Once the hacking vessel has left range or is destroyed the subspace link between the turret and command center computer are re-established, thereby returning control to the original player.
Now was that really so hard.

I don't think that would matter much. It might matter when trying to reprogram the turret, but after the reprogramming is complete, the turret wouldn't be using the old link, it would be using the new link.
