Iconian Race: What should come with it?

Hi guys, I was wondering how the Iconians should come out? But before I post ideas I need to know what they look like. Can someone give me some pics?

No-one has ever seen one, so there appearance is unknown. They were in a novel, which had a surviving colony and I think they were pretty much humanoid.

Kinda weary about this ... but only because there isn't much to go on so i'm afraid it may not fit in well with the other very well known races.

But I hope to be pleasantly surprised...

i knda share the same sentiment.... Im also curious about what kind of ships were going to give them, since the canon sources that mention seem to imply they didnt need spacecrafts due to their portal technology.. but let's see.

The Iconians must have used ships before having those portals.

Speaking of portals, is it possible to increase Transporter range for the Iconians only?

Yeah they are [edit: ALMOST] completely unknown, so we have to wait for the dev team to release something so we know what kind of style the team want for them.

The Iconiain in Star trek lore are a race that can travel all most limitless distances those the windows they can crate in thin air.

Not much is know expect for they disappeared levin a few relics behind with not know reason for there disappearance long before the federation was around.

I think I remeber from an episode of tng picard telling someone the myth of how the Iconians fell....If you remember, the planet where they found the gateway showed signs of being bombarded from orbit about 100,000 years ago...I think the myth was that the Iconians use the gateways to conquere other worlds and the races around at that time forged an alliance to destroy them and eventually suceeded.

If the Iconians used the gateways to conquer other worlds, this would imply their space fleet was not incredibly advanced. This would be supported by the fact that their planet was bombarded from outer space.

If they had an advanced fleet one would think they had used it to prevent their planet being turned into a parking lot.
I'd imagine their fleet was composed of small vessels capable of orbital/space flight, but specifically designed to travel through the portals. Perhaps robotic vessels. We'll see though.

Personally i think the Voth would be mighty interesting to be introduced.

I vote for including Binars. They will have two ships: one shaped like a 0 and one shaped like a 1.

They would have used ships before the gate was developed, and would likely have kept a good fleet after designing it. Incase something happened to the gateway, like damage or an opponent developing a defence. I doubt advanced races are dumb enough to not know the advantage of a Plan B.

Nearly every major race in Stargate has access to Stargates that are similar to Iconian portals (even not-so-advanced ones), and they still use Ships to travel. Despite the fact that pretty much every world shown has a gate.

Umm except the planets and people enslaved by the Gould and Wraiths who had no ships or any idea how to work their gate yes....
