if the klink small ships didnt burn through supply then it would be so annoying to play against klinks as they could just spam spam spam the small ships all game. they wouldnt need big ships. the small ships are good to bum rush people with, but they have to be supply heavy. with klinks if u are winning and getting loads of kills you will be fine (obviously as you are winning) but if u are not getting kills your supply will run out fast.

yep, thats pretty much the idea :)
But we will include other gameplay styles for the Klingons (as for all factions) with their redo

I don't know if you've ever watched susa or vorcha or support generix versus a turret? Its a large useless target. A light turret would at least give one a shot at having two seperate cheap speed bumps rather than 1 expensive one. Dominion have the perimeter and the default phaser as well.

Sus'a' takes roughly 50% more damage from the HWP and does 20% reduced damage to the HWP :)

If you want a light turret, build a BortaS and use the Attack Probe special. There's you light turret.

Just because the Dominion have 2, doesn't mean all races should.

Early game light turret idea for Klingons:

Name: KbeajQ

Stats:  19/19/ (can't open the guide on my phone :D)

Armament:  Beam damage
Passives:  extra strong hull / subsystems

Oh yeah, and it can move....  And cloak... And you don't need a constructor to build them!  :woot:

attack probe is an interesting special. but it gets overshadowed by ion storm which is so much simpler and more fun, and doesnt drain supply at 7 per turret.

if u have all the specials researched u can even drop them while cloaked which opens up loads of possible uses. against some races there is practically nothing they can do. borg for example have trouble decloaking advanced cloak, so you can be as cheeky as you want dropping turrets. while roms and feds have an easy time decloaking advanced cloaks wherever they want. the dominion (advanced decloak is static) and klinks (advanced decloak is expensive) are in the middle. against all races, though, there are plenty of ways to annoy the enemy. such as turrets in expansions. or dropping turrets along a line you intend to advance/retreat your main fleet through, to protect your main fleet and add some dps. you could also drop them in the line you expect the enemy fleet to retreat through.

they really are useful in many ways, but most of the time your bortas are doing ion storms.

personally i'd like the turret special moved to another ship and make the bortas all about ion storms. probably best to keep it in imperial yard, maybe for chonaq. would certainly give the chonaq some use. especially since even standard cloak for chonaq will put your balls in vice cost wise.

EDIT:

ninjad by boggz,

gotta agree with that comical interpretation, a kbq is quite useful, a turret can be overwhelmed and killed as it has no engines while the kbq is a real pain to kill before mid game. and when it gets kills it ranks, and becomes even nastier.

I don't think the Klingons really require a light turret.

If you think about there supply situation, the set up really makes a lot of sense. HWP is expensive and quite powerful. It can easily take on four-five destroyers  with ease. Targeting two at once, and causing high damage. To build it requires resources, and forces your opponent to build something substantial to bring it down. Two of these right beside each other is extremely durable if in a key location.

But if you are looking for something 'light' then going for the ships is absolutely your best option. Considering that you want to rank up to gain resources, it is best to focus on the small ships production and ranking up some Kbqeajq. I've never been a fan of the brel... but I suppose this works as well.

As Klingons, you really want to be the attacking force in a game, gaining some supply back. The HWP is good to get once it can be afforded, as it will surely last for quite some time, and do a good job defending against any small group of destroyers.

Building these ships and even leaving them to act as turrets until you have better numbers is still a good option. A light turret will get you nothing for kills. A couple kbeajq for roughly the same cost (as HWP) will get you supplies.
