I think the Constellation is not much better than an old Miranda, on the contrary. It may be faster, but it does not have the additional torpedo tubes and the phasers. (By the way: has the Constellation torpedoes? I just looked at the Minimodel on my PC here and I can't identify launchers.) I don't consider it a good warship, maybe a fast little destroyer, nothing more.

It does have torpedoes according to "The Battle" TNG.

I never said it was a bad ship...never.
But shoud i compair its phaser output, its photon count, shield capacity to that of the more modern ships like the D'Derix or Vorch'a, or Galaxy, or Dominion ships. Its still out dated, mabye not badly but it is now at the extent where even using the picard manover isnt goin to break a Norexians shields.

its not in the game.
but cannonical there is only one thing to say... HELL NO, i may be a match for a B'rel or a Shrike or the dominion bug ship, but anything over that its par-usless like a saber with a torpedo launcher.

and a 100 year old miranda is? i think the constelation would do fine, and we at least should have the ambasador class as well

Well the Miranda II looks to be a new hull to me...not just a refit of an old one, same with the Excelsior II.

well then do a constelation refit hull as well, all they did was update the grapchis a bit, the same can be done to the consteltion, and ambasador class

How many Ships commissioned:
* USS Constellation (NCC-1974)
* USS Hathaway (NCC-2593)
* USS Stargazer (NCC-2893)
* USS Victory (NCC-9754)
Unnamed:
* NCC-7100
Uncertain:
* USS Magellan
* USS Gettysburg
This makes a grand total of 7 ships. Compared to how many Excelsior and or Miranda class ships?
The odds are not favourable. What a waste of refits if they aren't new hulls and maybe if they *were* the other two were just inspired by two super successful designs.
I believe at the time of this game the Ambassador is probably still in service but would be relegated to interior duties that are a bit less prestigious.

thats only ships that have been seen, there were most likely many more made
