I remember this one in armada 2 his ships manoeuvre could allow to fly. To vicinities or in a loop could allow to fly. I find this would better fit to it. Since in the films the ships also never stand still.

What do you think about this?

Definately, that's the one thing I miss in FO that was in A2, those flight modes were great. If we were only able to have one, bring back the cloverleaf!

thats would be a goos idea.

Telling ships to move around in combat would be cool

I vote to put flight patterns back in. I loved ships being able to circle around targets. For some reason I find it odd and unrealistic when ships stay still and fire at each other, only to slightly change their facing when going after another target.

i and from what iv seen moving ships are harder to hit with a torpedo... or at least should be

And if possible borg ships shouldn't get this, I mean how often do you see cubes flying in a cloverleaf pattern? Maybe they could have an improved attack move where they don't stop. Then you could have fights like the beginning of first contact, with the cube moving towards earth in a straight line with the federation ships circling it

@ Unleash Mayhem

Yes, because the borg always go the direct way....  :borg: :borg: :borg:

Some Manoeuvres & Formations from AM2:

Attackwall
Battleships first, then frigates and behind arty

Line
Travelformation,  hard to detect by sensors

X-Formation
Large distribution of Battleships to control a big area

Cloverleaf (Attack)

Circle (Attack)

Arrow (Attack)

I definitely miss the Assault Wall formation, in my personal install it's very helpful in keeping ships in the right order :)

And I'm sure the team would like to include better physics at some point, but I don't see it on the list... I wonder if the physics project could help?

I love those movements, I always used them when not the Borg. The problem is that people have asked for them back before, I'm not sure if the FO team like them so I doubt they'll be back.

i think borg cubes like in the show, should be fast in a stright line, but not of the mark. built up over a long distance and when they pass a level of velocity they should have to slow right down before they can manover.

hey heres an idea, put in the constelation class, and you can have the picard maneaver as a special weapon

that would be quite hard to code and pull off. cause dont forget the ships in FO are well more powerful than the constelation. And not only would your ship then have to manover into possition to do this, but the odds are it would get destoyred before it could.

basically all it is is changing the accuracy of the enemy ship that you targeted, and the constelation class was designed in picards erra, so dont tell me that it wouldnt be very powerful whern you have the miranda class in there and the excelsior, both of which are very old compared to the constelattion, the constellation class would probably be between the strenth of a akira and a excelsior

actually, a constellation could take on an excelsior, it has 4 engines! so its got some power packed into it

Except that the constellation was more of a science ship, similar to the oberth but not as widely used. How many oberth's do you see in A2 mods? It got 1-shot by a b'rel for christ sakes.

The Constellation is obviously stronger and more durable but it is still not a warship. The excelsior was more or less designed as a replacement for the old constitution and so was fully capable for combat with the klingons if needs be, as was shown in ST:VI.
