Tractor + Warp: (My interpretation of) lore suggests that any ship that tries to warp while under the effect of strong forces (gravity, probably tractor beam, etc) will probably tear itself apart. So: either tractor will prevent movement, or the has a chance to blow up.
I'm envisioning this:
(if it's your chess turn)
You select a ship
Press a button (~)
- now you see the grid/chess board
- squares that you can chess-move to are highlighted in red
- as you move your mouse over each potential move, the path is highlighted in a heavier white
-- in the case of under the effect of tractor beam, the path is highlighted in red
