NEVER! This thread is what its about. The armada2 engine just wasnt meant to be used with graphics like these, it wasnt needed and since the engine was never lisenced beacuse it sucked it never was improved.

Here are my computer specs, it runs almost perfectly on Beta II but is most likely to lag a lot on Beta III

It got 1700 3DMark03 Points (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH)

-CPU= Intel P4 3.C 800Mhz 1MBK L2

-Video Card= SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9550 128MB DUAL (LITE)

-DVD Rom= LG DVD 16X IDE (BARE) *8160 OR 8161 LG 16X DVD

-CDRW= LG GOLDSTAR 52W/52R/32E W/SW (BARE)

-Case= TURBO X INFINITY W/WIN (SILVER) W/350PS

Its V3 not Beta III, That looks good for specs but the ram seems a little light, and you must have gotten a REALY GOOD deal on that card or it was a bad buy.

HAHAHA i thot so as well, I got it for $ 88 CDN. It should have been much cheaper in my opinion, by the way it runs Far Cry.

Farcry on what seting tho? 88 CDN not too bad, but still would ahve been a better idea to go for something better sicne that card sounds like its sh*t.

yup. 1gb ram an a better gfxcard and it should run n run n run

the gfxcard sucks cause its a 'lite' version, which means nuttin more than its a downgraded version of what could have been possible with it. just to get a low bugdet card in the shops. (for example: 128bit instead of 256bit or through mhz settings or pixelpipes).
and i prefer not to buy the 9600 series, cause they are known for bugs with fastwrite and stuff.
if ur gonna upgrade your pc wit a new card, keep nonpro / lite versions out of your system, cause theyre gonna be a 'brake'.
and for the memory.. try to get a gig kit with good steppings like CL2 and 400mhz.

after that it should kick ass for some time

With the new cards i would say just dont go for an Light/SE version of a card. the normal ones are prety decent.

I originally wanted to get a 3.2 ghz, 1 Gig Ram, and a Radeon 9700 Pro. But noooooooooooooooooooo my dadd wont let me...... :wacko:

That would be a prety good computer, but for fleet ops you could run it with a janky 9200 if you had enough ram.

if i could give u some hints...

corsair Select Value 1gb kit CL2
sapphire radeon 9800pro 256bit

and another thing that could messup performance is the tempreture in the case. and btw if u got a constant airflow in it u are possibly able to overclock your system a bit, too. 2 fans for the case and a good one for the cpu and u could get some good results.

I forward the fact that more Ram is key, my previous set up P4 3.0GHZ 512MB and an ATI 9600 Pro, could handle Fleet Ops no problem, but when i added another 512 you could notice the change in performance especially in large games, just make sure your motherboard supports the extra ram if you chose to upgrade

Egad, my dads gona be pissed if I propose that. I cant buy new computer cards/chips etc without his permission even though I have the money.. talk about justice..
