It may be possible for an exploding flagship to cast something like the klingons death chant, but with negative parameters.

theres a much easier way.

you can easily put in some "hero ships".

just copy the type of ship, named it, for example:

copy the sovereign odf, rename it "fentE" (this like it was called in orig a2) , alter some stats and edit this ship to the starting lists of ships  of the avatars.

because i just dont think its necessary to add some further ships with even more experience, mainly because i think, these ships are not "better" but have had an more experienced crew, and this already is represented by the EXP gaining of ships during battle. (a quite more fitting solution)

I'd be interested to see that. Theoretically you could just set the Death Chant modifier to a negative value, although I'm not sure how you could go about automatically triggering that on destruct...

but youd gove that ship special abilities, and like i said in an earlier post, it cant be destroyed or taken over, but its crew can be killed

I really can't agree with indestructible or rebuildable flagships.  The very nature of a flagship indicates that it is unique, and if you abuse it, it can be lost.  And if it's lost, you're never seeing it again.

Consider the RL USS Enterprise.  If she gets blown up, that's it.  She's done and gone, and while another ship can be built with the same name, it's not the same ship at all.

Maybe they could do like the flagships in Armada2: Tactical Assault.  If you keep Them alive, you get bonuses later in the game, such as better ships, and weapons. But, if you lose them, you can never gain access to those advantages.

That's why I suggested that your hero ship "warps out" at the last quarter of health. She has to return to docks to repair... and then the hero ship can be "warped back in"
