First Starbase

For the primary Starbase you should have an"efficient" design, the Armada series Starbase designs where good and I'm starting to miss them.

Second, you should be able to build one Starbase (the Federation has used the Mushroom design since late 22nd Century), I mean a big starbase, not an outpost.

STO introduced a pretty cool Starbase design, you guys should check it out.
Or you could always use the Traditional Mushroom Station.

DS9 is a Cardassian built station owned by the Bajorans and jointly operated by the Bajorans and Starfleet. Of course, by the time of Fleet Ops, the Bajorans may have joined the Federation. Is there any official word about that?

I'm just saying it's cardassian in Design and arquitecture and that the Bajorans probably have their own Station designs since they do have their own ships.

Yeah, but he was also technically right about it being a Bajoran station. I just wanted to clear that bit up. :sweatdrop:

We have never seen anything to imply the Bajorans have Stations. Those small Impulse ships and transports are all we saw.

The Bajorans have been in space far longer than anyone else, but their religion comes before everything else. Transports and those Sail ships were likely all they had until the Cardassians arrived.

I like thay idea.  having a starbase, and then a buildable outpost.

I did that once in a ds9 mod, where you started with ds9, but could build mini outposts(armed mining stations, looked like the original a2 starbase)

Well, what we should have is that you have either the Mushroom Starbase to start with and the Original Armada Starbase as a Defense outpost.

I think all factions should begin with a "starbase" structure that has a maxcap of one......then you can build unpgradeable outposts to suplement your infrastructure....and If you lose the "starbase" then you can rebuild it but at a substantial cost.

I think something that would fit outposts better would be that they would be repair bases radther than being able to produce mining vessels and construction vessels. But shipyards already handle the repair process and are way cheaper than outposts but then shipyards are unarmed....but thats what turrents are for....

Anyways what Im getting at is Main starbase that builds the necesities for infrastructure and is kinda unique sounds good to me......
