Tricobalt devices / torpedoes are already implemented in FO Beta 2. You're too late guys.

the defiant has found out that an ancient bop(rom) was testing a new experimental engine, the enterprize(orig) was chasing a romulan ruabout that had the specs for the plasma weapon used on the neutral zone sb es in an atempt to catch up the romulan bop exploded because its engines were overloaded
the experimental AQS contunied at warp 9.99 around the badlands until the time of the defiant
a romulan shrike class  had planned to capture and launch the AQS at the founders homeplanet and destroy the plannet
unfourtunatly cardassian and dominin ships were discussing peace taalks for an alliance
the dominin attack crusers attacked the shrike when it passed to cloase to the nebulae they were hiding in,the shrike was destroyed  and te AQS was released twoards the out sirts of the galaxy, the radiation caused by the AQS harmed many planets but it was headed in a cource away from the galaxy until a large plannet gravity swerved it twoard th denscest part of the federation, the defiant was able to use the romulan trap to beam the AQS in the middle of nowhere THE END

P.S. TheAQS radiation cause the founders to die  

A. A black hole is responsible for the creation of our galaxy. It is still within the center of our galaxy (sorry, no way that "The Nth Degree" and "The Final Frontier" are correct ).

New research has shown that there are many more black holes wandering through our galaxy and each of that is much more powerful than those tine AQS in Romulan Warbirds.

So if they were that dangerous, what would those others cause? Taking this, the galaxy should be completely dead.


B. Those are books, more or less what Star Wars fans would call "EU", expanded/extended universe. So it's not really canon. The series and the movies are. As are publications from the makers (Okuda, Sternbach and friends).

People confuse with antimatter torpedoes, quantum torpedoes, and photon torpedoes, but the thing is, an any kind torpedo is a matter/antimatter warhead
Thus, an antimatter torpedo is equivilant to a quantum/photn torpedo

yep, the federation will get balancing improvements in version 3. within a new feature of version 4 they will also get some advantages over the other races

My my my, what such poor knowledge about trek tech I should've come back a lot sooner...

Anyways, I'm a Tech Head, and here's the breakdown on Torpedoes...


Disregarding Enterprise, Photon Torpedoes were used during the early 23rd century onward, in which the effect evolved from a white pulse blob to the familiar red/orange spikey pulsars we know and love.

Supposedley, the "effect" around the torp casing is a plasma sheild, used to project the torp against phaser or ECM jamming. The Photon carries an antimatter warhead, with anti-deuterium and deuterium and [TD]The Changeling explained.

Quantum Torpedoes were introduced in DS9. These were used on the Defiant (not from the beginning of it's service life as many people think, actually sometime after the "The Search.") According to the DS9TM, these weapons use, in conjunction with standard M/AM reaction,an 11-dimensional quantum membrane and quantum uncertainty. The initial M/AM reaction is used to stir up the membrane to produce an immense release of energy, possibly many times that of a photon.

Transphasic Torpedoes are the invention of ST:Voyager. Nothing is known about them, except that they are extremely powerful, and possibly use phasing technology to pass through matter (which would explain why they are so powerful.)

Now, during BOBW, the Enterprise-D used a weapons system called an Antimatter Spread to confuse and distract the Borg Cube, while Data and Worf could use a Type-7 shuttle to board the Cube covertly and capture Locutus/Picard and also used the onboard Transporter to get in and out (before it was found by the Cube and destroyed that is.) Apparently, no real damage was done, but then again, the Cube try to destroy the packets as quickly as possible, perhaps to keep them from causing serious damage upon impact?
