Maybe the avatar Admiral could be a Romulan defector? It would be a Romulan avatar, just not working for the expected Empire.

Great idea man, wish I could see the pic of who you were talking about though.

i got that too. and the direct link failed too. but copying and pasting the link into url bar works. seems like they are trying to stop people eating their bandwidth.

If we do get a research-oriented Fed avatar, Risner's extra system value bonus in Eraudi should be given to the research avatar.

Also, I think probe ability shouldn't be avatar-specific, and should be on more than one vessel (but not the untargetable thing the Canaveral used to have, that might be OP.) Maybe the research avatar could get better probes tho.

As for supports viable in combat: I would love to be able to actually use Canaverals to counter things (especially those damn Intrepids that are a little too generally awesome for my tastes in Fed vs. Fed.)
