Well, you would want them to not be at rank 5 or 6, so they could warp in at any rank between 1 and 5.  These ships could have minor to large amounts of damage as well.  I don't know how to get them to randomly have damage, but you could just write a few more odfs and add them to the warpin pool, each of which could have any number of duplicates which were at different ranks, and with different amounts of damage.

my suggestion had the warpins being from ranks 1, 2 and 3 only. anything that is officer rank would already be assigned to more important stuff.

Yeah, I suppose.  I still like the idea of them not all having perfect health though, it would help them to not be too much more op than they already are :sweatdrop:

Actually in my personal mod I have something very like this, for my Centauri. Normal ships that you build (Centauri Royal Navy) or ships you warp in from the Navy come in at rank 2, but "inexperienced" (cheap) ships that you warp in from the House Fleets (local militia) are rank 1, and it takes quite a long while to rank up to rank 2. An extra rank could be added to counter the "loss" of a normal rank.

how about just remove the passives, reduce sensor range and reduce the crew on those incomplete ships. Also add a button that says "complete the ship for cost bla bla bla" (but ofourse, make the uncomplete ship and the completion together a bit more expensive than simple building a complete ship). the show stated that the ships used in dom war were at least combat ready (even the incomplete galaxys) but didnt have any science stations and so on.

Don't mean to go off topic, but maybe SFC would be upgradeable, the the upgrades meaning you have increased chances of getting higher ranked ships.

Say level 1 you mainly get 1s and a couple of twos. Level two you could get some 3s and 2s more likely, level three you cant get ones anymore etc. Might be fun.

Back on topic, I think this would be a cool ability for klingons, or give the klingons an ability to build certain ships instantly, but have them be destroyed after some amount of time, probably between 2 and 7 minutes, something like that.
