Could the Descent in later versions be given avatar bonuses? Since there are multiple of the Class and they're going through an experimental phase, according to the guide, there could be some testing a different special or passives with each avatar requesting one more suited to their style.

The special Warp-In isn't a distress class like the regular one.

Because of the obviously defensive orientation of the Descent-class I don't know what could be different for Risner or Mayson or Lewitt or whoever the 4th avatar will be. The higher levels passives seem very static, since an extra-core makes sense to a vessel of that size carrying such an impressive shield-grid. I really have no idea how to make a suitable difference between the Descents of the individual avatars. Warpins shouldn't be avatar-affected in my view.  :sweatdrop:

maybe for veteran the mayson one could get the new phaser from his turret. the one that goes PTCHEW PTCHEW rather than PEEEEEEEW

and risner vet could get an extra shield layer, which is cosmetic, but has the gameplay of increasing defence. especially against torpedoes.

I think you are confusing the avatars here. Maysons turret-phaser is nothing specific to him (veteran (or Nebula-refit-class rank 4) type XV-phaser anyone?).

Risner would get the offensive bonus, Mayson the defensive bonus.

Edit: However I could think of giving the Mayson-Descent the ACS-torpedo passive.

im not getting them confused, mayon's turret has type XV risner's does not. that is specific to his avatar.

i wasnt suggesting it to conform with the mayson = defence,  risner = GUNZ idea. not everything has to follow that idea :D mayson gets ACS for his excel, how is that defensive?

mayson has more use of the type XV phaser, maybe he likes it better, hence he puts it on his turret.

The way they seem to me, is that Mayson is a Starfleet hardliner.  No deviation from standard Starfleet policy and practice.  Thus, powerful emplaced defenses, shields run at full output, and probably more incidents of bouncing graviton particle beams off the main deflector dish than Risner.  His ships focus on well-rounded versatility, just as ready to scan a nebula as to shoot a Vor'cha.

Risner is a rulesbreaker.  She authorizes increased rates of diversion from shields to weapons systems.  She deploys fighters (a dangerous risk of the lives of federation citizens), and deploys giant guns that inflict collateral damage...attached to an over-specialized ship.

risner is the crazy one, she took on multiple dominion bugs with a shuttle, and won.

Bouncing things off the deflector isn't 'crazy', it's standard Starfleet procedure. Not doing it is the crazy route.

he said mayson is the deflector guy, risner is the super magnan cannon girl

That doesn't deny she's the crazy one, though. Messing with the deflectors is done by pretty much all Starfleet.

Its on the mayson turrent because the turrent is a defensive weapon and thats why maysons turrents are more powerfull because hes defense.

indeed that particular armament does suggest he likes defence, but it also suggests he likes type XV phasers. he could have just installed a torpedo, or installed a second normal phaser, but he saw the type XV and said, oooooo i want that.

No these are mounted phaser cannons which are defensive weapons and the XV is the most powerfull version available he wouldnt be much of a defensive avatar if he didnt have the best weapon on his turrent, and he did refit them with torps hense the torp turrent refitted with the most powerfull torp available to the feds.

O and the devs are the muppet masters of what mayson likes not him lol pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

If the Type-15 is a 'mounted phaser cannon', that doesn't explain the Sabre and Nebula having that same weapon.

tyler already pointed out the error in your logic.

face it, there is justification for saying mayson likes the type XV more than riser as he uses it slightly more. maybe when he saw it in use on his phaser turret he said: "I really like this new phaser"
