Cardassians?
Post ideas and suggestions on new features or improvements here.

I know there are no Cardassians in this Game, but i always liked the Cardassian Race, it would be very simple for the Dominion to add an extra shipyard.
The Cardassians would have 2 Structures-The shipyard and a Nor Class Starbase.
The Shipyard would Construct
The Keldon Class-Battleship
The Galor Class-Cruiser
The Hideki Class-Destroyer
The Nor Class Starbase would be Massive, possess MANY Weapons, but Cost a ridiculous amount of Resources, and it would be very large and would take a long time to build. The Nor class Starbase Could hold itself in a fight, but the catch is, you can only build 1.
It shoots out the Anit-Cloak waves like the Perimeter does, and it would be able to repair ships and can collect Dilithium/Tritanium.
The Downsides, would be that it possesses minimal weapons, but heavy shielding, a large perimeter around the space that its built would be unbuildable, preventing players from fortifying it with turrets.
this is just an idea.....

I would like to see the carddies in the game but this has been requested both as a stand alone race and as part of the dom but the devs are having none of it, they just don't want it because of their story and altho i really don't see the need for one in a pure multiplayer game, altho some games do have one it just isn't necessary.
Anyway i think the carddies are coming as NPC's at sometime in the future altho i have no idea when that will be.

The Cardassians can be a NPC race, but boardable like "X3 - Terran Conflict", the ATF ships aren't buydable but boardable.
It will be a great feature and close to reality.

Zeich's Cardassian Pack includes Hideki, Galor and Keldon. It will be integrated in some future release of FO, alongside some of his own creations like the Cardassian Interceptor.
A battleship is however unlikely for the cardassians because their economy is destroyed after the Dominion war, and regarding the Keldon: This shiptype is actually older than the Galor and both are cruisers. In case they get a battleship, they'd get something new. And with Zeich's Maya-magic any model is a great model, so let's be patient

Lol no the galor is older, the keldon is a recent ship designed by the obsidian order at least 10 years later than the type 3 galor which is the newest refit for that old ship.

According to memory alpha, the keldons were commissioned in 2371, and the galors were at least used in 2367. We saw them used in TNG in that episode with the USS Phoenix (nebula class)

I think Dukat was also aware of the design, surprised that they were doing better than ones he'd seen before.

Yes go search and you see its not a claim its fact based on sources gathered from episodes of startrek.
I also THINK i remember hearing that galors were also used early in the take over of bajor, so the original galor must be very old.

The fact that the Order ships were upgraded versions of a Cardassian Military ship Dukat already knew about does not support it being designed by the Order nor the fact that it's new.

I know that the cardassians arent a playable faction
But i ve been thinking maybe it would have been interesting to reimplement
the manpower resource for this faction since they have been decimated by the dominion.

Cardassian ships and stations would be cheaper than their dominion counterparts, but would provide less bonuses (a yard would cost as much as a small yard and be able to produce only 3 ships, Nor would cost 75% cost of a Starbase, but would give less functionality).
But IIRC Nor class were mining station (at least Terok Nor was). It could act as a 2x starbase sized mining station, with ability to process 3 miners at once (docking pylons). It could have 2 offensive and 2 defensive upgrades. Defensive work the same as starbase, while offensive lvl 1 gives photon torpedo launchar (10 sec cooldown), lvl 2 reduces fire rate of all weapons by 50% and makes the photon torpedoes a 6 shot volley lauchar. The base itself would start with a phaser (around 2-3 sec cooldown). It would not send out a tachyon ping.
Their shipyard would build Hideki, Galor and Hutet. Hideki were vessels of the Obsidian order, so it would be cool if they could have an accordant ability (maybe an ability to tag a ship and get it's sensor readings: You tag the enemy Sovereign - you see enemy fleet movement). Galor would be a cheap spam ship, with the strength between Ambassador and Galaxy. It's special would be a refit to Keldon (limited to 10, 1 refit uses 1 point. This is because IIRC Keldons were in a small number and were essentially refitted galors). Hutets would be limited to 2 only and would basically be cardassian dreadnoughts - they would cost less then dreadnoughts, but would also give you less (75% firepower, slower special energy recharge).
