lol, i like the realism of this idea, but this is one of those times where gameplay beats realism unfortunately. unless they wanted to vastly change the gameplay and abandon the theme they have going now (which i doubt, because they put a lot of effort into making something, its unlikely they're gonna just bin it)

very true, very true...wait, now what if they made it so that only spy/scout units can see the ques? you'd get the best of both worlds right?you couldent just send in some saber or k'tinga in, you'd have to use dedicated scouts.

well the only real way people look at an enemy yard is with a scout. they have long sensor ranges (and sometimes cloaks) to do this. its very rare a combat ship is used to scout an enemy yard, as if u have combat ships nearby, blow the yard up

i wouldnt oppose this though, it would make it even more useful to scout. it might give a slight advantage to cloakers though, as their scouts can get in sight of yards much easier. while other races have to hang out nearby.

Seeing a whole queue, making 'fake' queues, and determining structure of fleets before they begin to be totaled up has an enormous impact in Fleet Operations. Being unable to see past the first unit makes it very difficult to plan fleets or tech ups for factions, especially as ships are large investments in FO and take a long time to build. I am very strongly against this I am afraid.
I can see pro's and cons to the suggestion. It could be interesting because it forces people to react on short notice, but at the same time i can see problems due to the cost of vessels in FO.
Having an option "View building que" would be a nice solution. The same as allowing NPC yes/no. It would allow people to use their own preference and adjust playing style depending on the settings.
