Hm, I don't recall hearing something like that  :sweatdrop: . As far as I know, they'll get more specific "module based adaption" and "something special" that we don't know about - I don't believe they will get Collective based adaption

You really don't remember that?  Maybe it wasn't Optec but I do recall hearing somebody at least throw out the idea (which was received pretty warmly) that as Borg ships destroyed enemy vessels a counter would be added to.  Once that counter hit certain levels new upgrades would be available for purchase as globals like (reduce beam weaponry from Federation ships by 10%) or something like that as a form of Collective Adaptation over time.

Oh yes, the idea for a group adaption has been proposed at least four times before (I proposed it once too) - I just don't remember Optec saying that's the way adaption would work  :sweatdrop: . I think he said that they have their own plans that don't look like these suggestions in fact  :whistling: . I could definitely be wrong though :)

Ah well who knows :D.  I like the adaption system they seem to be flirting with in terms of the Modules giving resistances.  I think right now you only get a passive resistance if you have 2 torpedo or 2 beam mods, correct?  I wouldn't mind seeing a 10% resistance for each module up to 20% total.  That might actually encourage more beam modules and torpedo modules while still allowing a decent counter in the form of the other weapon type that wasn't selected :).

Well, each module on top of the integrated model gives the resistances. In other words, a Diamond is armed with torpedoes, and a torpedo module then gives it a passive. Same with beam armament and modules :). Thus a 3 beam sphere module gets a 39% reduction from beam damage, while a torp module on a sphere gives no passive  ^-^

Oh I see.

The chassis don't state what they come with as a standard module except in the actual selection of the chassis from the uplink, right?

I guess that's not so bad then :).

I think I thought that too originally - although I believe I was corrected a little while back as it doesn't say anywhere on the chassis or selection what the original armament is  . I put that all in the Borg Database though to slightly accommodate  :sweatdrop:.

im just going to throw this out there but veterancy for borg? we could be shooting ourselves in the foot on that one, i mean they are already beastlier than a pissed off klingon who has had to much to drink and is in a blood rage.... wouldn't that be bad?

Borg and the same exp system as other races (including veterans) has been shot down multiple times for being both inbalanced and condradicting the Borg from the show.

if the ranking system were to be put into borg then the amount of xp borg needs would need to be double.

also i like the assimilate ship/construction idea and gain resistance :)  but it would be hard since the current assimilation only works for small crewed ships and not to mention enemy probably has their construction ships next to a fully armed station to destroy their construction before it gets captured or something... :(

I've mauled this over as well, I made a Borg Cube with armor, torpedoes and holding beam and sent it off to the Federation base...

I had to put it on invincible and it was nothing like Star Trek first contact...

The Borg do not level up, they upgrade, and the Federation can't run anything bigger than a Sphere.

Btw, on the next update I recommend putting several more beam weapons on the cube, but lowering their damage accordingly so at least you'll be able to recreate some epic moments :P
