well this could be done easily enough, you know like the romulans have phaser refits etc, well you could have an option to make it a MARINE SHIP OR A ARTERALY SHIP OR SOMTHING OR JUST LEAVE IT AS A NEB?

This idea about a refit system for the Neb is an interesting concept. It's supposed to be easily refitabble anyway, so perhaps it could be done. However, each upgrade would have to be given pros and cons, to fit in with the "Right tool for right job" idea FO is following. I'd probably vote against an artillery upgrade (that's the Steamrunner's job) but choices could be:

-Marine variant = Marine capabilities and more armor and sheilds, but less speed and no tri-cobalt torpedo. Weapons are also more geared towards sheild damage then hull.

-Science variant = More Special weapons at cost of tri-cobalt (what they are could change depending on the avatar) but less normal weapons (only phaser) and less sheilds.

Note that the above would all cost resources and take time to upgrade, and due to their cons, the unmodified Nebula would still be a viable tactical option.

indeed this is a great idea, but we must get an idea, thet would be worth the trouble of refiting a nebula into any variant, so it must play a decisive role in battles after refit

but then again, whats the point in having the ships after the battle, it means you have either won in which case you have the ship, or you have lost meaning the ships gone.

and if you have another oponant to face you can't really refit an art to become a short range weapon in war, so if you have the ship its tuff, if uyou need another one then decon and make a new one ffs.

i just ment it must be usefull and of some strategic segnificant , becuse a player wouldn't go troug that trouble to make it

o yeah but after a battle you either have it or you don't and if you don't need it you decon it and gte the rescourses from it.

yes, but that's entirely the player's choice, but in my case, i wouzldn't dicomm. it, since if you build it and it survives, you will need it again, and besides 1 ship, doesn't make a difference, even 4-5 ships don't make a difference while playing online or against several AI's

Just incase anyone doesn't know, typing "assault=1" in the odf will make a ship board the target as soon as shields drop.

that will cause a crash if you dont put that as its class. i.e. include assault.odf instead of say cruiser1.odf
this is for stock A2 only & will not work for FO *** there are no definable assault ships.
