Defence stations near Weapon-Disabling-Nebulas or all Stations near AntiShield-Nebulas get deactivated/reduced weapon damage/shield energy.

Stations have decreased offensive/defensive/system values when near class Y Planet (Demon class) (And no extra supply for starbases)

Class Y? What about having them kill things that get too close? Like a planet version of the nebula.

I think the only problem with that would be believability; how could a planet affect stations or ships in high orbit or within close distance in such a way that could alter that ship or station's values?  Supply rates or energy resupply or similar I understand, but damage/destruction or lowering of off/def/sys values I am not too sure about.

All I can think of that could cause damage to a ship or station or lower their effectiveness within proximity of a planet, that is not in the planets atmosphere is;
1) Gravity (or some other naturally occurring phenomena generated by planets)
2) Planetary Defenses (conventional weapons or devices like dampening fields)
3) Life-Forms (sentient or not, star trek has an abundance of life-forms which could cause problems to ships or ship crew when in proximity, some native to space, some not)

I don't see the class of the planet as having much of an impact on ships/stations unless it includes 1 of those 3 aspects (unless I am missing something) other than possibly Supply related issues.

Vorsath, have you seen the voyager episode where Voyager was forced to land on Class Y planet?

Just orbiting a 'Demon' Class planet is a hazard to ships.

Ships near a planet may be harder to detect, because they can hide "behind" the planet. Ships near an owned planet (after allowing colonization), will fire faster, because they want to defend it, so they get a moral boost.

I forgot about the events of that episode and the radiation discharges related, but it does actually constitute a part of point 1 as Thermionic Radiation discharges are "some other naturally occurring phenomena" generated by the planet, So I'd support it

The stations could get system value increase instead of defensive value increase when near a planet, because there would be better more repair crew / equipment available.

The stations might have a little bit smaller system value in dust fields. The dust might cause minor problems when repairs are in progress.

On starbases - Increased Rate of Fire when near a planet.  (People fight harder to preserve their homes, than they do to preserve their live in many cases.)

At this rate, starbases will only be built near planets since they get a bonus for everything!

Starbases shouldn't perhaps have all of these bonuses when near planet. Some of those bonuses could be only for some other station type, like research facilities.

Well, in order to get a bonus, you must colonize a planet. So, you put in time and ressources and get a bonus back. I dont see a problem there.

And when starbases are build around planets, I would say that *this* is the right place for them. Why placing a starbase into open space when you try to defend a planet?

And we must differ between single bonus systems and permanent bonus systems. When you get a boost for your research, this bonus will be negleted after the enemy got its research complete as well. But a +15% defense bonus for example is a permanent bonus.

Optec, if you don't mind, i have a small wishlist for this:
* Stations can generate these types of bonus.
* Ships can get this type of bonus.
* You can restrict bonuses to certain specific odfs.
* You can make it so that when a ship enters this bonus area it plays it's animation forward and when it "leaves" the area (or the station goes away) these bonuses are taken away
Is any or all of this possible? it would be highly useful for TFF.

nope, something like that is not possible at the moment, except for the original armada2 "aura" weapons of the frigates, or constant refiring a modifier weapon (but that is neither a good solution, nor is it free of side effects).
Similar stuff is on todo for a future race ^-^
