Would it be possible to trigger an event when a klingon ship destroys another ship?  For example, something like the Klingon battle plan (MoQbara Staion) increases damage to 175%.  would something similar be possible/triggered when you kill a vessel, you gain increased damage for a few seconds?

Ahh... I got an idea! We can give the klingons the needed boost with just trying out my idea! Ok, I wanted to make sure that both avatars get a decent bonus here...

The Veq'Laragh:

I believe its torpedo system is much like the Steamrunner's. So here is my proposal. At rank 5 (ouble gold) the ship gets to have the original torpedo replaced by an exploding artillary torpedo much like the Serkas. But with a little larger of a blast radius. At Veteran rank it gets it upgraded to a Multi-Stage Artillary Torpedo! This means that after the first explosion some projectiles will be fired in random directions creating addional explosions around it. Of course this means to balance it out the fire rate should be doubled (And maybe add some short range pulses just so it isn't so helpless between shots).

The LuS'Pet:

Lately the sheild penetration feature has been cool. But I personally believe this ship could be given a little more. So, at rank 5 (double gold) I propose to give it a special ability where the torpedoes give double hull damage, but fire rate is decreased by 50%. And at Veteran, it is given a passive ability where all of the torpedo phases through the sheild dealing direct damage which increases each chassis size lower that it the target is. And maybe a minor deduction of damage dealt to battleships and veterans of its chassis or higher.

So... how does that help improve the fact that the normal klingon ships need something new?

An exploding torpedo shell would be an interesting addition for a veteran Veqlaragh though

yes the Klingons to me, were very much like the vikings merged with samurai, with emphasis on the honour, the brute force and the warrior code type stuff

the Klingons tend to like ramming things, so that could be a part of their ship design

also explosives and killing things efficiently and possibly having the most battle hardened troops(and fastest transporter take-over speed)

they could also have salvaging, taking resources from ships when they die (a percentage of the ships cost perhaps)

the honour instead of rank would be a nice idea too

the honour might do different things for different ships, ie enable the 'ramming charge' or enable another special or miracle 'death before dishonour' type of last stand move

some 'last stand' type effects could be
- boosting weapon damage/or firing speed while under 10% hitpoints (and dropping)
- shunting more power to engines for a lasts minute get away
= power to cloaking, lets the ship fire when cloaked, but only once and will drain a lot of energy forcing that ship to repair or decloak shortly after

How about honor as currency for upgrades (instead of minerals)?

Experience would stay as a separate mechanism.
Honor would be gained by killing/capturing ships/stations.

OR

Honor as a prerequisite for research and/or buildings?

Hiow about 'honor' replacing the veteran limit? With it gained like experience, and working like Collective Connections...
