Eximus was on a Bridge Commander mod. That is the first time I saw it so I don't know if it was ported or an original model for that particular mod. I think it was called Kobayishi like the test Kirk passed with flying colors.

This is the Argonaut Class.

And the Eximus Class

But they will not have glows, bump maps and such, as I added these by myself

Hey, can I just plug the Eximus into Fleet Ops.
If I put the meshes and textures in adn then just delete all the references to the Excelsior 2 (which is silly to have in game anyways) and replace it with the Eximus stuff would that work? Thanks in advance.

It would be easiest to just put the textures in and then put the Eximus SOD in the addon folder, then rename it fed_excelsiorii.sod
If the scaling is right, that will basically replace the excelcior.

Sounds easy enough. Will it be called Excelsior in game? I assume that it has its own weapons load out. Could I do that to swap the Teutoburg and Phalanx around as well? I tried getting the Teutoburg in the construction yard by adding it awhile back but ti didn't work out correctly.

All that will do is change the appearance. If you want to change the name, and weapons it will require much more work. The name is easy but you have to change it in 6 odf's. The Weapons, depending on the ship can be very complicated. Each ship has 6 ranks, and as separate set of weapons for each, so if a ship has 6 weapons, that is 36+ files you have to edit.
If you are just looking for a quick change in appearance though, throwing a SOD in the addon folder is the easiest thing to do.

Even if you do a quick appearance change as you suggest wouldn't you have to edit the odf's anyway as the hardpoints will all be off? Just wanted to make sure I understand that point.

I believe the hardpoints would stay the same as the excelcior, so in a sense, yes. The addon mod is really just a quick appearance change. In all honesty, it could look funny with the hardpoints, and the scaling could be completely wrong. Either way, changing hardpoints is much easier than actually changing the ships weapon loadout.
Infact, the glows from the E2 might still be there and that could look awkward, so if it doesn't work out, adjusting the hardpoints and replacing the sod would be the next step. At that point though, you will probably want to make a mod module to keep from messing up your files.

Thats slightly insulting to Wiley sense they are both his ships. The point of the Argonaut in fact is to be a cross between the Proteus and Achillies. A fighter carrier than take on many larger threats.

It is indeed a port for BC. The Eximus actually goes back to the very early A1 modding days. It was one of the first ships created by this community.

Holy crap that Century class is epic! I definitely wouldn't mind having that in my game. Love the screenshot of that class depicting the enterprise F. It just seemed appropriate. Unfortunately, I'm not sure DJ Curtis would be cool with you sending me the files necessary to get it in FleetOps.

There are some of those models around, plus it is available for stock A2 on filefront. There is nothing wrong with sharing personal mods, and though I wouldn't intentionally do something against someone like DJ's wishes, he can't do anything about it. But like I said, there is nothing wrong with passing files among friends. Publicly posting them is different. I think I made or helped with glows for K_merse's version, so you might ask him too.

Anyway here are the non-canon ship designs that I really like and therefore added these into my personal modification:
From left to right:
Nimrod Class , Argonaut Class, Century Class, Excalibur Class, Eximus Class, Proteus Class, Magellan Class
Those ships are awesome! I'm highly tempted to mod them into my personal version, but am I correct in saying that I would have to redo the mod when v4 comes out? If so, I think I'll hold out until the next version.
