Okay, I as well as a good number of people know of a Venture refit of the Galaxy. Basically given new phaser arrays to cover blind spots.

One question I have is, can it be done to ships related to the Galaxy as well? Like the Nebula and New Orleans classes. Would they get a similar refit of getting additional phaser arrays installed purely to cover blind spots in the fire arc geometry. ??? After all, I personally think the Nebula and New Orleans should get a new set of teeth if the Galaxy would as well.

The Nebula doesn't really have blind spot, the Phaser on the lower Engineering section would cover under the nacelles. Not sure about aft, but it likely has something there already.

I think the plan is eventually to have most veteran units get different textures :)

this would seem to depend on how they are going to deal with the three types of nebula class. they have the four nacelled melbourne type, the phoenix sensor type and the farragut MASSIVE PWNAGE torpedo thing. maybe nebula classes could randomly be one of those three. or have the first two be random and the torpedo nebula only for veteran. with a HUGE torpedo ability.

I thought of something more interesting, based on what I noticed from mixed tech.
Dominion heavy cruisers built from the romulan mixed-tech yard are capable of refitting (specifically adding another weapon).
So, it could also be interesting to have the romulan mixed-tech yard for the feds which can build the nebula class without a pod and the player can choose between refitting to the weapons-pod-variant or the sensor-pod-variant. Wouldn't that be a little better and more player-friendly?

it would be clever, but which nebula would arrive from SFC by default?

and where does the melbourne nebula with four nacelles come in. maybe that one could have better engines and shields, leading to higher weapon dodge-chance and better shields. the better engines because its engine focused. and better shields because we can assume the warp drive is more powerful to feed all four nacelles.

In my last version of the game I had several Nebula's as seperate classes (not refits), each in different slots so they all came at random.

Personally, I wouldn't include the Melbourne-variant because two different variants to choose from are enough to me, and sensorpod and weaponpod make more sense to me than additional warp engines. I would rather let this one be a map object somewhere then, to give it a chance  :ermm:

Edit: And for the SFC-warpin, I would recommend to simply erase the nebula from the warpin-list since it will be buildable by romulan mixed-tech-yards in this example.

Since Warp-Ins are random, it doesn't really matter how many there are. My game never had a problem, even with 5 varients. I just mad the other 3 much rarer than the standard and Sensor.

i think the torpedo one should be rarer and stronger. the huge weapon pod must be good. its MASSIVE. its weapons pod is bigger than the sovvie's torpedo turret which pwned a sphere in 4 torps.

Was it ever stated that it was a torpedo pod or just simply the standard? It could be anything.

good point, it reminds us of the miranda's torp pod. and it looks like it has a launcher at the front.

EDIT: i think in the episode with the sutherland (data takes command and annoys romulans) that torps were fired from the pod

A cute, little baby-sphere if compared to FO-ones

So the mixed-tech-idea may be a little contrived, but too many different warpin-classes sometimes can be very annoying. But I'll keep still, my modded warpin-list isn't short enough to make me in the right by saying "too many different warpin-classes"  :whistling:

The Sutherland in "Redemption, part II" actually fired torps from that pod  ^-^

A lot of Federation ships have a habit of firing Torpedoes. Does that mean most starships are torp refits? Like the Galaxy; is that a torp refit? They have a torpedo launcher in the neck section.

Also in furtherance to my previous post (i can post again because someone else posted, saves making an edit :P ) memory alpha mentions there were torp lawn chairs in the pod.
