Romulans suspect everyone, especially people no-one would expect them to suspect. He just doesn't know it yet.
Or does he?
Or does he?

interesting i thought the leading role was reserved for the praetor, in this case Neral is the last natural romulan leader of the romulan empire as was mentioned in ds9, shinzon had Tal'aura execute the senate on nemesis but since he was killed by data and subsequently vaporized, the next leader was guessed to be Donatra or Tal'aura but thats all written in books.
as for a new romulan ship, what did you have in mind, and will it be balanced enough not to upset the status-quo?

The Praetor is the leader, though there has been mention of a Romulan Empress at least once. The way Q mentioned it implies there's one during Voyagers time.

Even the Praetor does not wish to know all that Helev knows :whistling: . Sela is not an empress in the Fleet Ops timeline

i doubt sela has made it past admiral rank, ranks usually take a long time to pass along, then there is the general rank. i also doubt the romulans would take kindly to sela who has already failed one critical mission because of her previous connection, if you think about it, because of her 'heritage' if you will, she can be blackmailed and bought. a security risk in herself. why would the romulan empire want such a character to lead them.

I have to disagree with adding more Romulan ships. I'm not a fan of having so many unit types in games and I feel the Romulan ships as is are capable to dealing with most threats. As Dominus said certain ships are better and worse against certain other ships so if you are spamming a single ship type and winning it's likely because your opponent is spamming a ship that yours are good against.

yep. The Romulan have a lot of problems with aliens in their ranks. I doubt Sela would ever get into a real fleet command. In times of war (like the Dominion war) such anti-alien tendencies do usually even rise. Therefore Sela does not play an important role in the Fleet Operations timeline. Mijural is the Romulan Kirk nowerdays
By the way, the Pretor is a civil leader and some kind of "president" to the Romulans, with real commanding power (unlike the Federation President, which is more of an 'organizer' to arrange the wishes and needs of all the member planets). The Romulan fleet ("starfleet") is called Galae, commanded by an admiralty of several admirals being issued by the Praetor or a Senator (her rank "Admiral Sela" points that she actually was part of this faction). The Tal'Shiar is not just the Romulan secret service, but some kind of parallel structure, dealing with stuff the empire does not officially want to, like assassinating somebody. Tal'Shiar operatives are granted a lot of special authorizations, and a Galae captain is usually not very happy having a Tal'Shiar member on board. The Tal'Shiar did never command complete fleets, just single, dedicated vessels, until the Dominion War.
//edit: oh and yep, just like all factions, the Romulans will get a few new crafts or refits in the race redo, cause some new unit roles will pop up
//edit2: Yep, the Fleet Operations universe differs from the current storyline in games like Star Trek Online (or whatever future films might bring). Romulus, for example, did never go boom
