It wouldnt be too bad, give the starbase three weapons to help a bit and make it a game mode using one of the spare techtree files, give it some kind of all power to shields weapon (based off the corbomite reflector but just make it absorb instead of reflect) an Advanced Targeting Computer weapon (based off the PDP but made longer range perhaps) and either a detect cloak or an anticloak (detect cloak would be tachyon detection grid with a longer range than the current automatic one in game, and anticloak would dissable cloaks in a certain radius either when fired or every 10 seconds (it is possible to do the when fired one havent tried the every 10 seconds one myself)

So basically a superstation, all THAT would do is transform every game into a bunker game -.-

Yeah! Upgrades that can be done on each station. maybe a phaser upgrade on the klingon starbase or faster buildtime upgrade.

Nevertheless i want back a unit limit. It sux hard just have limits with units that are based on credits. What does it help if i build hundreds of sabre and 5 galaxy-classes. Credits AND general unit limit would be usefull.

Unit limits are good- as long as they can be turned off. The lack of a unit limit is one of the major things that makes Fleet Ops great, and without it, its just another mod. Also, have you considered possibly having the galaxy not take credits?

The galaxy isnt produced anymore thats why it takes up credits. And I agree unit limit is good and should be implented :)

I agree, as long as it can be turned off.

I don't see anything wrong with being able to turn it off, do you?

Also, whether the Galaxy is still being produced is subject to debate. Quite intense debate, in fact.

Sure it can have the OFF switch ;)

A about the galaxy: The FO team says it isnt produced anymore---> they are making the mod ------> they make the decision. Nothing you or I can do about it :P

it feels good to have people like your ideas, at lest somewhat anyway.

i don't mind that. aslong if there isn't a crew limit. that kills the borg race with it heavy crew ships

More like slaughters. I wouldn't be able to attack with 200 cubes anymore!

I dont see how this would make any difference to people who don't want it except taking up one of the techtrees that could be used for a different game mode, Its also relativly easy to add to the game just by creating the unique starbases and then writing the tech tree, theres also changing the menu so that it doesnt display the old techtree name but the new one instead but I dont know anything about that.

Either way I think this idea is a good one.

the only thing i have against flagships or "hero-ships" is that when playing the computer, they usually send it to my base alone in the first 2 minutes of play and i blow it up fairly quickly. who in their right mind would do that with a flagship?

(note: I said right mind)

other then that i just don't understand why people don't like them.

Well, that rules out every AI in beta 2.
