It's not going to upset the Balance. Since you're such a fan on canon reasons and logic, don't you think that a sector would be able to project the course and heading of incoming ships? :whistling:
Why would a sector of space be able to detect anything ? The sector is just empty space with a few scatterd rocks and systems in it.................

But its not like we don't allready have an early warnign since you can hear them across the map unless its big.
That said, I dont see why detecting WHERE they warped in should be avalible. If that were doable, then we should be able to detect any vessel with a matter/antimatter reactor or power source with similar output on a map........
Lt. Cmdr. Marian Hope wrote:I agree. I think warp in is quite balanced right now. I don't think that marker would change a lot, since you rarely see warp in raid attacks in 3.1.5(which usually lead to their destruction). I can imagine that it can be pretty nice when you fight the Feds and see ther warp in marker. At that point you may decide whether you can fight 3additional vessels or better run.
That is entirely untrue, warpins are VERY good for raids. However it requires recon and knowing where there is a weak spot to raid at, or risking warping into an enemy expansion the SECOND you get warpin avalible, and hoping he has no ships ready.
The smart warpins will be saved for some isolated target a scout has found, or as a expenseve way of scouting a target thought to have a cloaked defense group..... if the warpins are attacked....... eitehr run your main force or lol at the guy and roll him before he cloaks.

Listen to him Marian.
Loosing an entire warpin CAN be worth it, depending on what you achieve.
In a game earlier I got DCd from ( so dunno how it would have affected the game in the end ) I used warpins on a Klink builder going for an expansion... he decloaked his fleet to get it and chased as it ran.
Immercanary (the klink) got all the warpin, which hit me in supply some I admit....... BUT the chase got him closer to my base uncloaked. I KNEW where he was.
Then I send in my small ambasador/Intrepid force to attack, he has mostly Vorchas in numbers.
My decoy force gets hit and looses a ship or two and I hit the r hotkey for a quick retreat while firing........
And my main fleet (including avalons) moves in for the kill with a fed scout ready to use it's special staying just behind the lines ready to zoom in and make em visable.
But before I could kill em the disconnect occured, however after the disconnect when the AI took over, his ships were almost all gone within a short time.
In that instance, I lost a nebula a galaxy and an ambasador in the warpin, they only killed a single builder............. but it was fully worth it as it baited the enemies main force into me.
