Seriously though, its pretty hard to get to later tiers with them atm, since you have absolutely zero map control in early game stages...

  Aye.

  I think this topic should be regarded as "outside the norm" and not taken in to factor with most Online game balancing.  I'm guessing this was done with a "ceasefire" time alotted between the two.  This would merit a RACE to build the most powerful and easily spammed battleships.
