no one wants to ram a scout, i was trying to convey the concept about SIZE matters.
lets say, ramming causes X amount of damage. most ships out of the little yard have a streangth of say X-4 so, in being rammed, they get destroyed. where as a warp-in might have a strength of x+2 so being rammed, it will take hella damage, but will not be destroyed in a single ram.
using cars as an annalogy, if you have a yugo, and you "t-bone" another car while going 100kph, then you are going to do some serious damage, now if you are going 100kph and you rearend another car going 90kph, he might feel a jolt, but will not destroy the car.
same thing with the ship ramming damage thing.
as for adjusting the mixed tech research time
>:(
instead of the standard 3 hours, we will have to wait 4? thats nuts. maybe it doesnt really take 3 WHOLE hours, but it sure seems like it, and even the thought of it being extended at all is as crazy as those people who cry CLAIMING that the hyperspace artillary is too powerful

Actually, speaking as someone with their paws in the odfs, i can say that it doesn't matter which angle you hit something with, only the size (as smaller targets have less health and the ram for the most part does roughly the same amount of damage... probably... there does that cover enough?
).

A critical-hit chance would be something that could be implemented though. Chance of the ram doing greater damage or even *gasp* destroying the target ship. But I am not advocating this... because even though it would be more 'realistic' it would definitely not be "More Fun" at least not for the federation because this would essentially be a complete counter to the big early warp-in ships like the Galaxy and Descent.
