you also could change the way the station is placed by making it so the borg mining vessle builds it but it would be nice if it build very quickly just like the auto placing works

but why are we so obsessed with the need for a mining station for the borg?
If a borg vessel orbited the moon, mined, filled its tanks, then once it reaches capacity credits the resources that it has collected to its resource pool, and then resumes collection it serves our purpose. Why do we need a station? We can even increase the cost of a miner to include the 200dl and 100tr that the station takes.

in fact this approach is soo borg and efficient... instead of the other races' inefficient collect, dock, unload, and collect again.

the nature of this would thereby restrict each moon to 1 miner for a second miner would be redundant.
The borg tech costs already more than amply compensate.

I dont see the fixation with docking at mining stations for the Borg

i like your idea but i was just saying as either a temp fix or if they decide not to go that route. it seems very plausible that the borg using their advanced transporter tech would beam the resources to the pool. the only question i have is why do the cargo bays have to be full before it transports them why not a constant trickle.

dont get me wrong, i prefer if u criticize the ideas, it helps them evolve.. but i was just curious why so many of us feel there has to be a borg mining station...

i think it is a very interesting idea i also thought some race would build a station on the moon.

sounds reasonable. but would it then have the protocols that have been suggested by zolar.

IMHO, I would find zolar's idea to be more in line with the Optimize avatar, as they can really stand to boost borg output and those protocols will need to be researched (I see no better place to research them than at the mining station), while the no station part is more akin to Assimilate, where it dispenses with optimizing and focuses more on the bare minimums to get those resources flowing and the ships moving.
