Klingon supply gain

You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

Maybe someone who's really really hard up for supplies and can't wait for the suicide run would do it. :D  I don't think it's a bad idea at all.

It probably could be done so only enemy weapons destroying the ship gives supplies, but there is still the problem of damaging it before battle  :pinch:

No, that hasn't changed :)

so the idea of shooting your own damaged ship to gain xp and supply is flawed

I'm confused... the idea was to change that behavior, and the retort was that it could be exploited  :sweatdrop:

my idea is that being in battle gives all (or some) ships involved in battle a slow trickle of xp. to represent that being in battle is training, u get smarter by practicing battle not just by winning. of course this would only work in battle with the enemy. it would be stupid having ships gaining xp for firing at their own starbase. even though battle drills are sensible, i dont think battle drills should be included, encourages not fighting.

I'd prefer battle drills with 5 exp a minute. Most players would probably make the 10th fleets record look less humiliating.

if you could xp without attacking the enemy it would encourage people to sit still ranking up slowly. which would be boring.

Until a fleet of ships comes in and destroys all the ships in the drill. I doubt that one player would just sit around not attacking so that the other guy could level up a bunch of ships.

The part about a fleet appearing and destroying the entirely defenceless fleet is why I mentioned the 10th fleet. I'm sure you remember them.

Didn't remember, but Google is even better than memory! :borg:

they got caught with their knickers down during a drill. but an experienced player would hide their fleet on a big map and continuously do drills. even if his base was destroyed he would still have a vet fleet and go om nom nom your base. unless the drills gave xp so slow that nobody ever did them. the balancing would be very hard. either the drills are too useless and nobody uses them or they are too great and everybody uses them.

5 exp per minute would make a Sabre take 3 minutes to reach rank2. Experienced players also scout, making hiding not always work.

on some big maps there are so many places to hide, that scouting would take ages. unless you spent loads of money on expensive scouts. most people only build max 5 scouts.

i just think it would be kinda boring ordering a fleet to go battle drills and level up slowly. id rather go find something to blow up and level that way
