Griffin

You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

could somebody tell me what's the purpose of this ship? for a mere 48d/98t y can get leahval which is so much better.

It disables enemy sensors, that can be quite an advantage and the Leahval doesn't do it.

right, and leahval doesn't do that. now i get it ;)

Once reaching an officer rank the Sensor Jammer becomes even more capable. I will take a look at the Griffin again, but i think she fits her profile as a light cruiser.

my point was that i prefer leahval because it can deal a lot more damage and its cost is similar. maybe increasing shield strength would help because now griffin is like leavhal without special abilities.

I really like the Griffin :D The Leahval is great too, but only short ranged.
But maybe it could be a little more powerful :)

Firepower isn't important, not to Romulans. They are the sneaky strike-while-distracted type of race.

firepower is important. or how would you explain the power of the warbird

just try to strike without any powerful weapons... that like a sting of a mosquito for an elephant..

A warbird is slow, easy to hit and its cloak can be detected even without specialist sensors; it needs firepower.

Do you see the Romulans as the sort of race to come out and declare a challenge or  strike when you don't expect it? Even a D-12 Bird of Prey can take out a battleship with the element of surprise; it's not the size of the gun, it's how it's used.

you got to have the needed firepower to strike deadly. let it be a spy with a bomb or poison, or let it be their ships main-weapon. when i hear you talking about "its not the size of the gun that matters" is like trying to kill someone with a paintballgun while you have a smith n wesson next to you which you could use, but you thought "ah well.. i dont need it with the surprise bonus".

Ok, let's make the Griffin into a Klingon ship, since you don't seem to like what the Romulans are.

so you say the klingons have no firepower? or what?

i'm yet to see romulan droping the cloak sreaming 'surprise'.romulans are my favorite in the show but frankly i don't like them in FO. overpriced ships, weak defences, spamming tavaras. i know that when played right they're unstoppable but u just need so much effort to do that. with other races u can play lousy and win, but not with roms.
