Borg - with veterans and doubel gold bars not too impressive

what kind of cube?
i remember a 2xtactical armor 3x torp and regen cube to be pretty strong^^
together with a diamoond it can wipe out a bearly everything^^

But yeah, it doesn't have a chance alone against micomanaged artillery range units, e serkas or the things taq' can build, thery you ned suport by detectors or adaptors or even assimilators.

remember merciless ai have unlimited resources so by the time you have a cube theyve been sending out large fleets for quite a while i found even 3 tactical cubes were no match for a klingon or dominion fleet

did you tried to help out the cubes?
like you could use for the same resources 2 tactical cubes, a diamond and 2 spheres
would be more effective, i think...

i plan to extend the modules a bit, granting different modules different resistances and defense bonuses. Currently balancing around with it

you might disagree but i think the borg should have an adapt special ability which would make all vessels sphere and above immune to damage for a short period of time with lets say a 90 second cooldown between each use

for borg adaption we could also use a weapon resistance that increases with time.(dunno if possible)

Borg shields were already mentioned and are not likely. Even if it would be canon for some of their ships to have shields, they are balanced as a shield-less Empire.
