borg too powerful

You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

I never use Green Alert. Yellow sometimes, but never Green. I always have bad luck with stronger ships. They die almost as fast as a fleet of Federation-tuned Adaptors in a Federation base (which is usually quite fast).

Starfleet always kill my Borg ships faster than other races.

What is your cube-configuration?

I find that Holding Beam Cubes die far more quickly.  If you want a fed-stomper cube, I suggest the follow module layout.

1 Beam
3 Torpedo
1 Regeneration
1 Tactical Armor

Transmission Hub Specials - Boarding, Devestating Attack, either Partial Adaption or High Energy Slicer.

That cube should do serious damage to anything it comes up against, if not levelling most things all on it's own, while you make a probe do figure-eights in a nebula rather than pay attention.  It has a slightly higher edge against Romulans and Dominion, with their high number of Beam rather than Pulse and Torpedo weapons.

For Tacticals, I normally have max armour and torpedoes then the rest varies each time.
Normals cubes normally get max beam and torpedoes. The rest vary.

I often have at least 1 holding beam, so that must be the problem.

Tyler, try this: build a cube with this specs, 3 holding beams, 1 regen, 1 armour, 1 torp. The attack strength in not high, but it has like 200 defense and almost the same sistem value witch means it will regenerate very fast an will have more than 4000 special energy ! Nanites are a must plus partial adaptation, devastating attack and slizer beam. The slizer beam will destroy most small ship in just one hit. You can back up this monster with a diamond. Killer combination.  :borg:

I'll have to try that.

Seems to be better than my config without holding beams.

Big weakness of Borg: Generix support refit weapon kill... completely makes most higher tier borg ships useless... and no way to prevent it like other races (as too few ships). Thoughts anyone?

Perhaps mixing in more scout cubes would work.... but this really seems to be bad for the Borg when going with anything higher up than an assimilator.

makes me wonder why the patch nerfed 'disable random' but didn't nerf 'disable weapon'

all i got to say is at least for feds, seeing as defiant was made to fighet borg, it should have a boost for fithing borg, as should intrpid, because of voyager

borg can rush early in the game, and its not necesarily because of numbers, but there ships are so powerful, nobody in the begining can stand up to them, they can easily take out any construction ship trying to build mining, and hold off any early ship you can make, , cutting off your resources, and never giving you a chance to build  up more powerful and less easily asimilated ships, dooming you to loose, i think somthing needs to be done

Actually, K'vort's with shield breakers do very well against Scubes, as do Rhienn torp refit.: Saber's have long range, so they probably do well too. Dominion don't really have these options...

So far the Romies have the easiest time though with Borg Scubes... not so much the other races though.

I would disagree. Just because something was MADE to fight something else, doesn't mean that it should have a bonus against it. I mean...I guess I could understand the Defiant, but the Intrepid? It shouldn't get a bonus just because one of its ships has fought the Borg before.

i think the borg are okey but the smaller starships should cost more and the bigger starships (like a cube^^) should be cheaper then the borg would want build more cubes and pyramides like the borg in ''next generation'' cause i hate the borg in voyager  :borg:

There is little wrong with Voyager's Borg, the only reason one's in the show are seen as the weaker is 8472. The Borg were rarely actually fought and Voyager only defeated a small probe.

Voyager was easily able to escape many other Borg vessels too... a highly unlikely circumstance for such a weak vessel.

However, Picard88, the Borg will be receiving the Command Cube in the near future, which should fulfill your wish for a TNG style Cube

It´s the same thing, only that which is unknown and not yet understood is dangerous. The reason why the borg didn´t strike us as powerful on Voyager as they did on TNG was the fact that the Federation knew a lot more about them, they knew what to expect, and with Seven they had real knowledge. And finally they kept their hailing frequencies to themselves, someone tearing your ship apart with weapons fire is NOT your friend.  :sweatdrop:
