Either way it doesnt matter, since the Excelsior II is a made up ship...
But I can certainly understand how someone might be confused by it

Yes, and the Akira Class was named after that anime. At least, thats what background info at Memory Alpha says.

u know the lakota class command cruiser, i thought the excesior is that one
well, sorry for my mistake, i just thought so because the Lakota-class uses the Excesior hull.
