It the episode yesterdays enterprise form tng the enterpriese is refered to as a delta class destroyer....also in ds9 galaxys were refered to as destoyers. so were the galor and hideki. though gul dukat refered to just hidekis as destoyers.

Sadly i can't add refits. I already have to make somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 ODFs plus the sprite files editing, textures (for wireframes and such), tooltips, and things like that just for 1 ship. I also don't have all the time in the world to work on it. Sorry. don't worry, you get a nice big ship after the galor!
BTW Optec/Doca Cola: i will *never *ever* ask when a patch will be done again! :D

Elim Garak wrote:Would it be possible to make it refit-able as the type three gallor also has photon torpedoes, plus Gul Dukat refers to the type three being one of their best with some ambiguity, so there could be a type four and five refits as well.  Also does it have to be only a destroyer, Memory Alpha classes it as a medium cruiser.  :)

I think that, given the information in that article, making it a destroyer and not a scout is a bit generous at this point (seeing as how they were cruisers in TNG and probably DS9).

To make you feel a bit worse/better I think Doca and Optec have a special program to auto generate certain files to make FO a bit easier to mod  :D

Nice to hear ure modding a galor RCIX.
IMO to describe a galor's attributes we need to use the galaxy and nebula as references.

From all the episodes we've seen of DS9 and TNG (especially the wounded), the galor's offenses would be around the level of an excelsior 1 if not a little more comparing how it fared against the entD as well as during the dominion war's Call to arms etc. placing its offense at about 22-24 using the current galaxy at about 30 offense in-game as a comparative benchmark.

Defense ans System on the other hand would be:
a higher system value for a slightly better repair rate say 25ish, with actual shield strength for defense at about 18-20.

As regards the special weapon I would love to see the ability that was described in "Soldiers of the Empire" - Sensor Ghost.
The ability would be a weapons distraction that jams enemy sensors and makes them fire at the wrong target - say another friendly target for 5 secs; if no ally vessel is in the vicinity the attacker simply fires and misses the galor the way the beams and torps miss a vessel that is entering the blue or mutara nebulas in-game.
The ability should drain about 100 special energy. A galor would be equipped with 150 special energy.

this is what I would suggest for the galor at this time.

lol, I'm watching that episode right now.   Any way, in the episode "The Wounded" a Galor, shot off about 5 shots using its Redish purple phasers which caused only minimal damage to the enterprise.  It doesn't seem like a very strong ship.  It was Disabled with three shots from the galaxy. ( I don't know if these were phasers or torpedoes.)

IMO, Its special should be a kind of hologenorator.  In the show a transport used High powered subspace field to mask its defensive statious.  So, In the game it would appear the ship was disabled, but it then deals a full spread phaser attack and destroy  the enemy. :2guns:  But that would be the cannon way of doing it, not the cool Flops way of doing it.

I have completed the galor class (and will be uploading it momentarily), so please continue the discussion in that thread.

It's referred to as a battleship in some episodes, but I think they were alternate universe or something...

I typed the wrong name.

I hope you're right, because it means theres at least a possibility of them releasing it when FO is done... Which will make modding this lovely game easier :)

ive heard many times that the files are not written out but generated by some program. But i dont know if they will ever release it but that would be really nice.

Have to agree, this is  good suggestion. Especially the high system value is a valid propostion, as the gaylor class has several impulse enginges and possibly 2 warp-cores, means they take care for redundancy and failsafeness.

but in one ds9 episode the cardies tells obrian how foolish 2 backups are. she sees no reason for anymore than one.

Backup Warp Cores? Wouldn't that double the chance of a breach?
posted on July 7th, 2009, 7:19 pm
Tyler, not if the backup one doesn't have any Matter or Anti Matter in it. It's just a core assembly, so if you lose your primary one you can with some effort and time get a 2nd one running. Likely not as good, or efficent but it keeps you from being stranded. Intrepid class ships have one of these btw. As for having to active cores, i dont remember that ever having been mentioned in DS9.

Good point. The Intrepid has a backup core? I don't remember that in the show, Voyager seems too small for that.
