Unknown Ships & Also Are There Any Mods For These? (With Ima

As I have been creating my Star Trek Armada II Spanning The Generations Mod, I have come up with the ideas to look for certain ships and or stations for the different races hoping that they exist and then actually finding them for Armada II. Of course this is either a hard thing to do at times or gets to be very confusing.

Things I have been looking for:

Federation:
1) An Enterprise Era Starbase - well I was until I found the one that I happen to be using from Armada Fleet Command, I actually like it alot.
2) The NX-class Refit, see the picture below.
3) A True Enterprise Era Shipyard.
4) Vanguard (AKA Starbase 47 - Watchtower Class)
5) A Vesta-class Starship (AKA: USS Aventine) - See picture below.
6) Voices for Deep Space Nine hero station, have one that says there is voiceovers and even listed in the Events file, just don't have the sounds.
7) Wondering what the name of this ship is, I got the .odf name from an Armada I tech1 file but can't figure out what the ship is, sounds interesting for I think it is a TOS Galaxy-class starship or distant relative.

Alternate Reality Federation (Star Trek 2009)
1) AR Excelsior-class
2) AR Proxima-class
3) AR Galaxy-class
4) AR Sovereign-class


Romulans:
1) An Enterprise Era Starbase. (I textured one in MS3D and also tried to finish another version. Both didn't work. I did the hardpointing and everything correctly but for some reason the SOD lost the hardpoints and the facilities don't use their weapons. This seems to happen with anything that I create in MS3D or retexture.)
2) The Enterprise Era Romulan vessels in Star Trek Legacy, they would totally reamp and make my Enterprise Era Romulan Fleet Authentic.


The Gorn:
1) I have a dreadnought ship that has two problems, the SOD problem where it won't use its weapons and it also appears in game like a Starbase not a ship but it is set to include a starship file and doesn't have any reference to a Starbase, is it because how it was created in the 3D model, which I found out needed completion by hardpointing?


Non-Playable Races:

The Orions:
1) (I want to add them to the Ferengi or replace the Ferengi Scavenger with these ships)

2) I have two Orion Ships, but I can't use them, their texture names interfere with another ship in my game and happen to change the textures. I came up with new names for the textures for these two ships but I am afraid to edit the SOD to use them since I know the ships won't use their weapons anymore and will lose their Hardpoints. I was really hoping I could ask someone to help me just retexture these if they have the time? I have already done the Texture Renaming and also added to the Read Me's for the ships the original texture name and the new so it is easier to locate what needs changing. If anyone is willing to help me out with that, just said me a PM or reply here.


The Sernaix (part of the Dominion Alliance, or at least the New Dominion in my Star Trek novel):
1) Sernaix Warship (a feared vessel due to its nature of getting close and personal to its enemies.)
2) Sernaix Dreadnought (Three times larger than the Federations’ Sovereign-class vessels and has enough destructive power to destroy a planet.)


Also looking for:
Star Trek Armada II Dogs of War Mod, from some pictures, I have noticed that there are ships that I like but I can't find the mod even though the pictures that I have seen show them inside the game. I actually don't even know who created this mod.

The Starfleet Museum picture where I circled some ships that I was wondering about is too big to upload here in size even though I shortened it so, instead of creating a .zip file for it, I put it on to my Facebook account.

Editing the SOD should not screw up the model, as the texture names are saved in plaintext. Just though you should know.

A good ENT era starbase would be a great help for me as well :)
I have the Moskva, Lancaster and Pyotr Veliky classes but as your mod is a rival of mine, I won't give them to you just right now. I don't want them to be released first in anyone else's mod  (with the exception of Fireball who cooperated with me a lot) :whistling:
However, once the mod is released, feel free to use them with proper credits given. So you can count on them, just not right now yet :)

EDIT: There are a few NX Refit models out there, you just have to port them to Armada.

That is also what I thought and was also told. I was told that I can change the name of the used texture re-save to a new SOD file and the result should be a working ship with the desired texture. The result in my case was the texture I wanted but nothing else working with the ship, its weapons, except some specials. Went back to view the SOD in MS3D and the hps (hardpoints) were gone like they never had existed. :( :crybaby: :sweatdrop:

This problem has turned me off to even creating new models in MS3D or finishing ones I need to add hardpoints to because it happens with those too.

First, I have no plans to release my mod. Possibly to add it to Fleet Ops though, if I don't have to deal with the ODF format, the stock ODF files are easier for me to understand :(. (Can a mod in Fleet Ops handle the standard ODF files and files from A2?)

Ok, though, I guess I'll have to wait for your mod then. I have been really interested in the Lancaster-class and also the Dragon-class the most. :)

Some more pictures for those interested,  of the Enterprise Era Starbase, I am thinking about adding another module, (by copying the existing ODF's and giving them a new name.

I guess that means that I can just copy and paste my mod into my Fleet Ops install as long as it is in a Mods folder then?

Do I need to make changes to the main directory of my mod though?

Am liking the use of Westworld's NX Complex there. Very nice.
Strange, really, that you'd choose to use it as an Enterprise-era base. The "NX" bit is purely coincidental, as the mod pre-dates Enterprise.

Btw, "Ventral" does not mean "Side view".

I don't think you understand. Open the model in Notepad (yes, you don't need a hex editor) and search for the texture names (usually prefixed with "default"). You can change them but you may not change the length of the name! That means that you can replace fdefiant1 with fjetnova1, but not fubermegaship1. Then save as SOD. This has always worked for me and others and I've never had any problems with the method, and believe me I've used it a lot. If it does not work for you, then you are doing it wrong.

You should check out my thread then mate, on MSFC, link is in my sig here. I am doing a ENT era mod. However my content is exclusively MSFC only due to obvious reasons.

My NZ class was a NX-Refit starship, can be found on both A2Files and MSFC.

That leaves me out then because I too want and really need a true NX Era Starbase, but of course I can't go to MSFC. And I thought you in your PM mentioned that we should just forget that MSFC exists, that is extreamly hard to do when you mention it directly in a thread that I myself personally started.

I guess it is, from the way I was looking at the Bitmap image, I couldn't tell. Plus until I have the mods bugs worked out for Part 1, I am not adding the Part 2 units in, there is just alittle more for Part 2 but the NZ happens to be in the Part 2 group so I haven't seen it in game. Thanks for the headsup though, I'll make the NX-class Upgradable to it, including the Enterprise NX-01 prior to its upgrad to the next Enterprsie after I build a Constitution-class ship.

Oh, I didn't know that the mod per-dates the Enterprise Era. I went purely on the name there. When did the mod come out?

I did change one part of the complex, the moment the Base Module is built and it actually now is my main Starbase part of the facility, it builds the construction ships and mining freighter. This is part of the reason why I am thinking about expanding the NX Complex. I really glad though that it works in Armada II since it was made for Armada I. :)

I did misunderstand you, especailly since I was told that MS3D was needed to make and Edit SODs. I have opened them in Notepad before and got all that strange coding that was unreadable. I guess I can look for the texture through the "Find" feature.

How does Notepad save back to the SOD file format though?

Notepad saves to all formats. That's the good thing about it. so if you open a SOD file, it should just save it into a SOD file again.

I was actually telling K_Merse not you. Just because of things you've done in the past doesn't stop me mentioning such things to upstanding current members. But as Dom said this is all moot and does not need to be discussed. I will continue to mention my site, however you need not comment on them. You know where the community stands.

Yes, I did do it was a NX Refit design, it also pre-dates the official refit and in fact was inspired by the NC-05 Atlantis Refit from the SFCc/BC fame.

By rights then, I don't want you mentioning your site on threads that I have started, like this one. If you want to advertise your site do it through a PM to the other person. I will not stand for it on my threads that I have started. You should respect this wish, for I don't want to get in trouble for your actions when I am fully intending not to menion your site but I want the same courteousness on my threads that I start.
