Its not my computer because other games and other CDs install withing minutes (like 5 minutes), I think it has something to do with the disc because I've tried it on my other friends' computer and also my uncle's and all the time it takes over 3 hours to install. It is something to do with the disc, not the computer because this happens on a Windows XP computer too.

Install a virtual pc and install windows xp on it, i did this and was able to play armada 1 and its mods on it, you need to allocate at least 1gb of ram to it and a decent ammount of video memory for it work ok so your system specs will need to be mid range.

actually xp is no more likely to work with a1 than vista or 7
some people can get it working in xp but not vista
others can get it working in vsita but not xp
the only 1 for sure that works is windows 98
u just gotta use trial and error

No its not trial and error, it depends on your video card, armada 1 wont work if you have nvidia 8 series graphics card and a few other, below this should be fine 7 series is supported. It logic.... not trial and error and vpc usually removes this as you will be using ram as video memory and a1 doesnt need much.

you will find that people with many different graphics cards have had issues with running a1 on xp. its not only about graphics cards.
whether or not u can run armada on xp is unknown based on your system, u just have to try it and see. same as with vista and armada.

I don't think that I can do that because I have programs on my computer that require over 1GB of RAM and my computer only has 2GB of RAM, and I video memory I think is required for my built-in Toshiba DVD Player and a few other programs I have.

if u dont run these programs at the same time as the virtual machine u will be fine.
but your computer isnt powerful enough to run a game inside a virtual machine. very few machines are.
dont even bother trying a virtual machine.

I played it on my laptop using 2gb of ram, just cut back on the background processes you dont need, my laptop had a core2duo processor at 1.8Ghz. The only thing you need to worry about is video ram because you will need to give it quite a bit for the game to run smoothly as it will use ram. I only gave mine 8mb when i first tried and it lagged quite a bit, i extended this to 32 or 64 mb cant remember and it ran ok, up to you if you want to try or not, since you have vista im assuming you have a core2duo processor since its a laptop?
Myles try doing something like this before giving wrong advice.

i have tested this extensively. on several computers, if u get armada working inside a virtual machine u are graced with luck.
if u get armada 1 working on a modern machine at all you are graced with luck. so you count yourself lucky eralod
running games in virtual machines is usually a painful process.
plus if your armada is taking 3 hours to install you definitely got issues u need sorting out.

Not if you know what your doing and defo not when it involves a game that doesnt need many resources to run.
As for it taking 3 hours either the disk is damage and your drive is having trouble reading it or your drive is dieing , both would explain the random unreadable files.

My laptop is actually running an intel Centrino processor and is a 32 bit edition Windows Vista Home Premium.
I'll see what I can do, I'm first going to install the Armada I Demo and get the missing files that my Armada I install is missing and try to play the game then. I think that this might work.

I can assure you that there are no issues with my computer because other games and software programs install fast on my computer, the Armada I disc (CD) because it has the same problem on other machines (both other laptops and desktops).
All I can tell you that I don't have any computer issues. My computer is actually running perfectly and to its specs.

I managed to fix the error of Star Trek Armada I not playing by using the missing files from the Armada I demo. They got the game to work for at least actually getting to the point to actually start to play it. The only new problem is that the game won't play, I think some other files are missing, possibly some textures or something completly different.
In the pictured posted, you can see why I think some textures are missing and also though, I can't get the mouse's arrow to even move to actually click on the "OK" button to even start the game.
What other files will I need to locate to fix these other problems?

thats a very arrogant and rude statement. your attitude needs to change. i pity you.
do not try to challenge my knowledge. my statement was accurate and based on evidence, do not give people false hope with your fortunes (which might very well be lies, i wouldnt put it past you)
