I replaced a lot of stock ships and stations with FO stuff and they all seem to go transparent when something emitting light is nearby (such as torpedoes), anyone know why they do that?

I sorted it by removing the glow from the weapons, but that doesn't really solve the problem because it just hides it...

maybe it's a feature in preparation for the d'netzeeme class  :sweatdrop:

Here's one of a Starbase with a Shipyard behind it where it shouldn't be visible.

Seems to be an additive effect (basically the same effect as is used for cloaking). I'll take a look at the 3d model myself. It might need to be imported and reexported with different texture settings if that is the case.

It sounds to me like a weapons effect and a messed up tag on the models materials.  When FO torpedos move past stations and ships, they emit a lot of light, especially Borg Torps.  There are material tags on the ship textures that deal with how the model will act with these lighting effects.
