Ok, so im just out of practice and prob missing something obvious but a model im adding to the game isnt effected by shade (like it stays light when no light source is on it. Like the alpha isnt working).

I export the SOD as A2 SOD, here is the material name in ms3d: !phong_hideki_!opaque, ambient is set to black and diffuse is set to white.

The TGA files do have lightmaps saved as alphas.

Any ideas what I am missing??

Sounds like the alpha channel in the TGA is set to pure white, which will make it all light up (so you're whole texture is glowing)

But the alpha is set only selecting the windows in the texture. As a test I removed the alpha, then added a new on by only selecting a tiny black square for it. The same problem is there though.

If you like, email me the file and I'll take a look. :) (squirejames_5 AT hotmail.com)

Right, you also need to set Emissive to black :) That seems to be the source of the problem.

Ok, just sent u a pic with the settings at amb: black, dif: white, emi: black, Still got the same problem :(

What you could do is get it working proper for u, then send me the sod and I will try it here. Just to see if it works for me. If not, it must be a setting here somewhere. If it does it must be a setting in my MS3D.

Replied to your email. I have tested this model to make sure it works alright in the Armada 2 SOD viewer. It does, but if it doesn't work right in FleetOps, someone else here will know more than me. I don't really deal with FleetOps stuff directly (new glows, etc) as my mod merely uses it as a base for a regular A2 type mod.

I hope I have been of some help though.

I have never used !opaque before. I didn't even know you could, so it may be setting it to default. I would try !phong_hideki_!lambert :)

Good idea but no joy.

Try swapping the black/white lighting settings on the model. I remember standard settings not always working. The model should be invisible in ms3d except for the White parts of the alpha

Model works fine in ms3d, just not in the map editor.
